I wonder if these errors are made on purpose by mattel to variety its options for collectors or human error or lack of quality awareness.. Any theory behind this?

Human error is the most likely the problem.

Sure they have some production guideline to follow and QC control to reduce these off-production from out of factory.

Aren't we glad it's not the real car on the road..

The management must be thinking whether should he/she fired their Quality Assurance worker since error cars also are highly collectable.
