An exclusive performance by Nick Jonas & The Administration has
been added to the lineup for "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! —
Countdown To Music's Biggest Night," a one-hour special which will take
place live on Dec. 2 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
Nick Jonas,
one-third of the GRAMMY-nominated Jonas Brothers, and his new side
project will be introduced by his brothers Kevin and Joe.

Previously announced performers include three-time GRAMMY winners the
Black Eyed Peas, six-time GRAMMY nominee Maxwell, and GRAMMY winner
Sugarland, with two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J set to host. The show
will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television
Network from 9–10 p.m. ET/PT. Additional performers and presenters will
be announced shortly.

The special also marks the second time nominations for the annual
GRAMMY Awards will be announced live on primetime television. Last
year's airing of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!!" reached more
than 8 million viewers and led to double-digit percentage increases in
all key demographics for the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast earlier
this year.

The road to Music's Biggest Night begins with "The GRAMMY Nominations
Concert Live!!" — featuring the announcement of nominations in several
categories and performances by past GRAMMY winners and/or nominees —
and culminates with the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards live from Staples
Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 2010, and broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m.
ET/PT. For updates and breaking news, please visit The Recording
Academy's social networks on Twitter and Facebook.

"The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest
Night" is produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC and John Cossette
Productions. John Cossette and Ken Ehrlich are the executive producers.
LL Cool J and Renato Basile are producers.

Not really, Mal. I'd like for him to get one, I one hundred percent believe he deserves one... but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high again. If he doesn't get the nod this time, he will in the future. That I'm sure of!

STEALING GRAMMY THUNDER: That AMAs telecast earned its largest rating since 2002 thanks to a star-studded lineup that included Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Green Day, Janet Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Kell Clarkson, Daughtry, Shakira and Lady Gaga, among others. With the Recording Academy's stated policy of not allowing AMA performers to appear on the Grammys,
who will be left to book for the venerable awards show, which this year
takes place Jan. 31 at Staples Center, a week earlier than usual to
avoid the Winter Olympics? Of course, Taylor Swift,
who swept the AMAs but was in London and unable to perform, will be
front and center at the Grammys, but the Academy has already ruled Lady
Gaga ineligible for a Best New Artist nod, while Jay-Z and Alicia’s
“Empire State of Mind” came out too late to qualify. Will the Academy
be forced to back down on its long-standing policy?

David deserves it..but I'm not holding my breath..He has substance and style that Hollywood doesn't get..they like the flash-in-the-pan-grab-ya-by-the- Censored gilitter 'n shit...it's never about the music anymore...it's all about profit and politics.

David is above that in my book..Don't sweat it, Ladies..he's here to stay. And there is a famous quote that I think works here: "He who laughs last, laughs best". That's our Dave. Angel Love

So I guess David has a chance to perform. That's sort of cool.

Not getting my hopes up at all. It would be nice but I don't think it will happen, he always gets over looked. Like huntwork said they only care about the latest hottest thing not real talent!

^That's shitty! he has great talent and he deserves one for all the hard work he's done. If not what can you do? we'll just have to wait and see!

Agreed. David doesnt have the buzz that the rest of Hollywood does. He has more talent than pretty much all the people who win awards now a days. He is above it. I highly doubt he's going to get a nomination. I'll be shocked if he does.

Yes, China, he does..and in the old days, when awards were given BASED on merit..he would be raking them in..I'll hope right along with everyone else that he's at least nominated...but I believe beyond any doubt that his talent and intelligence goes beyond what some in Hollywood can fathom.

We shall see.

If the Grammy's turn out like the AMA's were.... it'll be a bunch of 'no-names' that will freakin win!! Seriously I never heard of half of those winners. I must still be hiding under my David Cook rock, lol.

You're not the only one, Tricia!! I haven't heard of half of them either..

I'd give David a Grammy just for being David..but then, I am so freakin' biased it ain't funny!!! LOL!!

The reason David doesnt win awards is because he's talented and that's sad. People who cant sing for their life win. It's really sad.

It's because they are "entertaining" (yeah, right) Like idiots stealing thunder from little girls who IMO can't sing. It's about business and who is financially more lucrative...not about talent or substance..
I'm hoping the Grammy's prove me wrong this year, but if Miley, Taylor, Jonas's or any other Disney bubblegum pop crap wins..I will totally turn my back on award shows period.

I say we create our own.. LOL!!!

I agree! The AMA was simply a joke. I'm not getting my hopes too high but I still wish they won't over look him again. He deserve to have at least a nomination. But I think there is a big different between all the awards we had so far and the grammy. While all the other awards were based on popularity this one, at least in theory suppose to be based on talent. we shall see.

I'm with you Vikki, lets create our own Awards. LOL flag

LOL!! Andy wins best male backup singer with his own ep
David wins for best male vocalist and Entertainer of the Year (in more ways than one)
Monty wins for best fill in Bassist
Kyle wins for best drummer this side of the Muppets (sorry, Kyle, you'll always be Animal to me)
and Neal wins as best Badass rocker who is totally a friggin' Ivy Leager in intelligence.
Next?

Remember guys the Grammy's are NOTHING like the AMA's. In fact no one who has won or been nominated for breakout artist on the AMA's has ever been nominated or won Best New Artist at the Grammys.

The Grammys also dont give a rat's ass over who is hot, who is not, who is hyped ect. They always tend to nominate one or two "IT" people or bands but they rarely win. Such as Jonas Brothers were nominated last year and they lost to Adele(how many know who she is?). Britney Spears lost to Christina A when Britney was the "IT" girl with the millions of albums sold and Christina was just a good singer who was doing ok(this was both their first year out). Nsync who hold the record for most albums sold, most sold out tours, ect ect have never been nominated let alone won but they have shelves full of AMA's.

The Grammys are the Oscars of the music industry. They dont care about flash or box office records, they care about substance. So while that doesn't mean Dave will be nominated, him not getting a nod at the AMA's will having nothing to do with it if he doesn't. It's a completely different ballgame.

Although a nod or a win would be nice, we dont need a shiny trophy to tell us what we already know.
We know David is amazing. We know he makes kick ass music and we know he's got a really bright future ahead of him. You dont need an award to prove that you are all those things. I'd love David with or without a Grammy. It doesnt change my feelings. I wont stop liking him because he doesnt get awards.

Totally agree with you, Chele...totally. (If they DO start caring about other crap than what it's for, THEN I am friggin' turning my back on all awards anyway..simply because they are not amusing at all)

I am so nervous about this. I am also glad to see I'm not the only one who hates these award shows. This is the first time I ever gave a damn. I so want him to get nominated and to win, because I think it means something to him. I hope he realizes he is perfect just the way he is even if the Grammy's never acknowledge him. I will record it, and then read here or twitter first. If he is nominated I will watch it just to see them say his name. God I'm soooo pathetic.

I just found out that my son's producer is a Grammy voter. I asked my son if this guy owes him any favors. lol. I'm kidding guys. David doesn't need my help. Just ....ya know.

Awww, Hang in there Vestph..we're all in this together.. we want him to at least be nominated and yes, win....Don't sweat it..Dave is a smart cookie (did I
really just say that?!?!?!) Even if he isn't nominated or is and loses....it doesn't change him..I really believe that he is better than any "awards" and that our love and devotion (and dollars) is all the award he'll ever really appreciate..a trophy is a trophy, and tarnishes..a fans love never dies.

Calling other people and the people who win untalented isn't gonna help David get an award.

I can be happy for the people who won and also hope David gets one, too. Just sayin'....

Hey, I'm callin' them untalented because I think they are. Period.

(Bubblegum pop twits and wannabe's..No, I don't think LO or DCTR will win any awards, but I DO think he should be at least in the BNA group. And win it.)

Talent and whether music is good or worthy of an award is mostly about perception and taste. What I love to listen to, what I believe is great talent/lyrics/voice etc is simply my perception or opinion of an artist or song. What I love others may deem cringe worthy. What they love may make my ears bleed. I'm okay with that. The world would be a pretty boring place if all music was the same or if we all liked the same type of music.

There are many talented musicians out there along with David, who I would not complain if they won a Grammy. Burn Halo, Kings of Leon, Muse ect ect. The list goes on and on.

Hell I am a Dave fan and I would never vote Light On for best rock song, cause it aint rock. So yeah, I really want BNA Grammy for Dave, but in the other catagories, I have other faves as well.

I agree with what Barb said. I'm one of the only teenagers I know who refuses to worship at the feet of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. I think that makes me really unique among people my age. The world would be boring if we all like the same things. It would be like talking to yourself all the time.

Gonna be snobby here..I can't stand most of what's out there today. Be it Miley or whoever the next "big" Gaga is..That's why I fell in love with Dave's MUSIC. He can rock. Through him I've found some other interesting bands, whom I have not seen win many awards, but deserve them.

I'm not gonna be nice with other "artists" who are just off a production assembly line...sorry if I sound like What's his face...oh...David Foster. But, I have to agree with him on SOME areas.

I am likin' Kris Allen..he's growing on me...like some of GRO's stuff, The Script okay some...Ryan Star yes..Have we ever heard of these guys before David? Not me. But, as you like it.

Well I dont think any of us were talking Miley or Gaga. Um I'd rather shoot myself then listen to that shit. But I am a rocker girl. Hell, Dave is the softest stuff I go for pretty much. I am more into ETID, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Bullet for My Valentine ect. Also love stuff like Muse, Crash Kings and Safetysuit. I fell hard for Ryan when I saw him on the tour, GRO I dont care for too much, but they are a solid band just not my thing. The Script is a cool band, poppy but cool.

I dont go for commerical music pretty much at all. If I had to declare a favorite band(besides Pearl Jam-they own me) then it would MWK. Neal's songwriting is my heart.

I COMPLETELY agree with the last sentence.

I've always liked being unique and not fitting the mold for the 'typical' teenage girl. I think it's really cool to be a David Cook fan among all of my friends who are, you know, Justin Bieber, Jonas Bros, etc. fans because it gives me opportunity to kind of open their minds to David and his music.

Best of luck to Dave. Very Happy Since this is taking place during the last show, imagine how cool if he WAS nominated and found out during the concert? Wow. As if I won't be emo enough already, that would be so epic. Heart
