In the yes.com chatroom with someone who was there today. She asked him about the Hodges song, "Hard to Believe." He confirms it is the same song, but that they reworked it, and he hopes everyone will like what they did with it.

She said they recorded eight acoustic songs for the EP, he does not know yet how many will be on it, or what the setlist is. (No, they will not all be on there.)

The Vietnam gig is on Andrew's birthday.

He was asked about the concert dvd from the Seattle show and said that it did not turn out well enough for them to release it. He said he saw it and that he would only release something that was quality, and it was not good.

An album release party is in the works, and he is hoping for Kansas City.

Singer-songwriter David Cook took the stage at Snoqualmie Casino's STAR Lounge on Tuesday to a crowd of fans and STAR listeners. He played an acoustic set of hits including “Heroes,” “Light On” and “Come Back to Me.”

Cook's sophomore album, This Loud Morning, is set to release June 28. He told Allen that the record took longer to produce than his first, self-titled album because it is more personal and honest.

“I think we put out the first record so fast and then immediately went on the road,” Cook said. “We were on the road for almost a year and I got off the road and had all these experiences that I hadn’t dealt with. Great things like traveling the world, and then on the flipside of that, things like losing my brother. So when we got off the road and starting writing all that stuff just kind of resurfaced. It just became really apparent as I was dealing with all that stuff and trying to write about it from an honest perspective that I needed to take the time with these songs to get them right.”

STAR listeners also had a chance between each song to ask Cook questions, of which included his thoughts on this season’s American Idol. Cook won the seventh season of American Idol in 2008.

"I’m sucked in,” he said. “I think this year’s crop is incredible. What I love about this season is that the show is really committing itself to pushing the contestants and allowing the audience to invest in them.”

Along with his album release, Cook told fans they can find him doing more concert tours, including going to Vietnam next month for the Hennessy Artistry Series to perform with UK's X Factor winner Alexandra Burke.

I like the hair. It's so 2008 before release. It must be getting too long to stand up.

I'm so happy for his fans in Vietnam!!

I bet we would have loved that Seattle concert footage.

After getting past my selfish moment of "OMG I want a release party in NYC so I can go" moment, I think a KC party would be so great for him. He could celebrate the release of the album surrounded by family, friends, long time supporters etc.

Sky_in_Wa's recap as posted on DCO:

Quote :
Back from the Star Stage in Seattle. I have to say that I had a great time today. And it was one of my favorite David concert's even though only 4 songs.

I got there early and thought I would be the only one there but there was already a line although short. LOL I decided to wait in line and eat after the show. I went to the ladies room and when I came back David was sound checking Drive. He sounded so good. I went up into the lounge and listened to him and Neal and other folks followed then the security asked us to leave. But you could still see him from the casino so we listened to the whole song. Fantastic.

We waited a bit and then they checked us in and we got second row right in front of David and Neal. They were the best but I must say that anywhere in the place would have been fine it was tiny. It also had fantastic acoustics. The lounge has huge windows with a view of the mountains, the sky was blue. It was a great day to be in Seattle.

David was in a black shirt, black pants and boots. Glasses and good hair. LOL He sang Heroes first and I have to say the song really worked acoustically. Neal was his usually awesome self. And David's voice has never been better and I mean that. Then CBTM which was the best CBTM I have ever personally heard live. I recommend that you listen to the song when the youtubes come out. It was stellar absolutely. Then LO and David hit an unbelievable note in the song. Then TLG which sounds almost like a different song acoustic and David sings the hell out of it. I hope the radio station puts up the vids tomorrow so you guys can see. I found this one from youtube it is LO:
His voice is unbelievable. I can't say enough that it is the best I have ever heard him.

Now there were questions between each song and don't beat me up if I get them wrong because I am doing it from memory and I did not write them down. LOL

I asked about the song "Hard To Believe" If it was the same song that Hodges recorded for his EP and
he said it was but that he and David Hodges had reworked it. He hoped we liked their version.

Patty asked if the Vietnam rumor was true and he said he was going to do a gig in Vietnam in June.

Someone else asked about the record release concert and he said they were working on it and he hopes it would be in Kansas City but that plans are not finalized and we would know in a couple of weeks when and if.

They recorded 8 acoustic songs for the ep and he did not know the ones that made it onto the EP, but not all of them would be on there.

Someone asked about AH and if he would be putting out anything new and he said no that Analog Heart was from a certain time period and he does not think he would redo it and he wants fans to enjoy if for free or something to that effect.

Someone asked him about zombies. LOL

And about the judges Steven Tyler is a riot, LOL, About MJ and if he keeps in touch with season 7 folks.

I think it will all be on video so you guys can catch it there. Because I can't think of the other questions.

Afterwards we all stood in line for pictures. He did not have time to sign so he had signed a bunch of pictures to give out. The money shot, you guys know the pretty one. When Patty and I got up there the camera needed a new card or something so we had a few extra seconds with him. I told him I could not wait for the album and that I really liked the new songs from Concert for Hope. He responded with the same thing he has been saying for months he can't wait for the album to be out, he has listened to the songs on it a lot LOL and he was happy I liked the new ones.

We went over to Neal after that and got pics and he signed Patty MWK cd. He was very nice about doing that.

There were about 70 people there I think and David had to leave right away so the pictures at the end were done very quickly one right after the other.

So that is my recap. Very Happy I had a great time.

God, where was this show, at a morgue? The crowd seems DEAD. The Q&A video was painful (although David was a delight as always).

^^^ what she said! I loved David's answers (as usual) and would listen to him talk endlessly but yeah, the crowd's energy seemed pretty low. I guess that as they were really close, they didn't want to scare David Laughing

Didn't he have a private pre-release party for family & friends at the Viper room last time? NOT getting past my selfish moment ( Razz ), I'm hoping for a pre-release party for friends & family in KC, then the public one in NYC like last time. Smile

Can't wait to get home tonight and watch these videos!

dorothy, I had that problem. I finally opened another tab and left it spinning in the first one. About 20 minutes later - when I had actually forgotten I had left it loading - I was startled to hear David talking. LOL Face
