Tony nitrous 0 Posted February 20, 2015 Two Tropical Cyclones at the same time. One going across the top of the Northern Territory, the other ones a bit more nasty, hitting Qld.Was a Level-5 (the scale only go's to 5!)Now downgraded to a Level-4 cyclone.Heading down the coast.Made a REAL mess of the town Yeppoon.Lots of houses destroyed. We have had non-stop rain for two days, I emptied a rain guage and the next time I walked past it, it said 40mm ! All my job sites are shut down and flooded.Hopefully the Cyclone will fade out or run out of steam before it hits Brisbane, the nearest city.

Tony nitrous 0 Posted February 22, 2015 235mm of rain over 3 days but you'd never know it being out riding today.Roads were all pretty clean and dry, few clouds about but no rain at all.Saw lots of bikes out enjoying the mountain roads. Amongst the normal sea of Harley's, Cruisers, Sportsbikes and giant BMW trailiesI spotted a couple that stood out....
madcarper 0 Posted February 22, 2015 good thing about a downpour it clears all the crap off the roads. love the laverda.
Tony nitrous 0 Posted February 22, 2015 Not sure what model the Laverda was, I'm not clue'd up on their twins.Loved the old Kat, but I recon the TL1000Swith the radial front end and high bars would havebeen hardest to catch around the mountains.Should ave put my Dri-Rider mesh jacket on, wore my leather and was pouring out sweat! haveugot1 0 Posted February 22, 2015 Lots of rain, sleet and roads full of salt at the minute. In the garage nice and warm.
smilinjack 0 Posted February 22, 2015 That Laverda looks like a 750 SFC with single seat conversion. Like you maybe, I could never see beyond the Jota when it came to Laverda, so not too good on the rest.
Tony nitrous 0 Posted February 22, 2015 I'd certainly know a Jota!I met the guy who's idea the Jota was several times. When I had my Harley, Motex the Harley dealership had one half of the building in Bomyard, and the other half was used by Rodger Slater (The Laverda importer)Rodger was the driving force behind the Jota.Interesting bloke. stantheman 0 Posted February 22, 2015 i think the laverda might be a montjuic 500 ,one of the best bikes ive ever ridden

smilinjack 0 Posted February 22, 2015 Montjuic has shorter fairing and different side panel decal, timing cover looks different too. 750 SF looks nearer the mark. The one in Tony's pic also has hydraulic front brake so may be a bit off piste, as it were. Anyway, hats off to the the guy who was riding it-in my book a proper classic.PS later ones did have disc brake. Been reading them up a bit, sadass that I am. SFC had a zinc plated frame too.
