Houses and tornados

Recommended Posts

I've had this same theme several times now and while it seems pretty self explanatory the sheer number of times I've had it is concerning me.

Factual info: before I was four we lived in half a dozen places due to my dads job. We lived in one house from when I was 4-6. When my parents divorced. My mom and moved into a townhouse and was there from ages 6-12. that's. The home that childhood dreams take place. We then lived in another apartment from 12-18.

The dreams: they start out when the sky is gray and dark. I'm working furiously to get people inside the house (anyone that i see outside, family strangers friends, before the storm starts. The first dream I was in my childhood home and I was anointing doors with oil, etc. I look outside to see the tornados coming. I then have had a couple more times with other dreams when I am trying to get people inside the house (the houses being ones ive never seen) where it's safe. Then two nights ago the dream was in my teenage home (which I don't remember ever dreaming about before) and as the tornado was baring down on the house ( after I begged and pleaded for people to get inside) I started telling the tornado in Jesus name to dissipate and was praying protection over the house. The tornado did dissipate some but that's where the rest gets fuzzy.

~Greyfort,

The following is a link that will take you to Mia's online dictionary for dream interpretation. This is a good place to start for tornado dreams. I like Mia have always felt they were very literal. For me it has always represented a life threatening event. I pray it will be of help to you.

BLEH!!!!

Seriously not what I want to hear or read. My thoughts on all of these dreams has been strictly on the spiritual side - Basically I believe there is a major _spiritual_ storm coming and I figured the dreams were my way of calling out to people to "get in the house" - the house being God (or God's house, etc).... basically that they are an image of my desire of seeing people saved.

But in reading Mia's article - the wanting to protect people and calling out to them reads a lot more like Mia's blanket dreams than the spiritual dreams.

That doesn't make me a happy camper - at all - especially since the first dream may have been before all of the tornado outbreaks that culminated in the Joplin disaster.

And that's a huge *may have been* - For awhile I had been writing down my dreams so that I'd have a date for them but then I stopped. I started up again after the freak out that happened when I felt like God really was showing me that yes, He does talk to me in dreams.

But in the dream I was speaking to the tornado in Jesus' name - trying to stall it and/or dissipate it. I've never been much of a "prayer warrior" or intercessor, I guess the best I can do now is pray.

Edited to add: if this is correct -that these dreams are more physical than spiritual then that would explain why they weren't sitting so well.

Your dream sounds exactly like my dreams which precede real tornadoes.

I would pray over the tornado dreams and the people in them when you have them, especially since that was what you were doing in the dream. In either case, real or symbolic, I'd say your prayers are required.

The REALLY encouraging thing, and what the dream is trying to show you, is that your prayers have an impact on the tornado!!!! So PRAY!

Love,
