YAY ..you're here !!!! And you're right, I am starting fresh tonight. In truth it was probably what I needed. I lost a lot of weight so far and I was getting a bit complacent, if you know what I mean, so I deserve the gain and it's taught me a bit of a lesson Laughing
SO.................can I get your news yet or do you want to wait until the others get here

..why are you waiting for the vet btw ?

Hi Gill....did you have a better day today ?

(oh yes - BG thanks for the gift Ashamed )

I think it's awesome what you've achieved and I bet it is hard, so don't be too hard on yourself (if I am allowed to say something like that :p )! So just start fresh and you'll do great!!!

Tee hee hee, if I have to wait until others get here, you might have to wait for a while, so... here goes congratulations

I passed all my master courses (classes), and only failed one course (statistics), so I am pretty proud actually. I know what I have to do know and I am motivated to work hard for that one course (I get a second part this semester). What makes me more proud, is that I passed one course that was right the day after another exam and I didn't get much time to study!

I am waiting for the vet, again, for one of our cats who's still sneezing. She came about a month ago and gave him some antibiotics, but we had to phone her when it didn't get better, so she has to come back (after the cat sneezed like 20 times in a row, I thought it was a good sign)

(I guess you can just re-take the stats part right ?)

Statistics is a course that's spread over the entire year, so we have to take exams in January for the first part and in June for the second part. I am going to try to get as much points to succeed the entire course, if it's not possible... well, then there's retakes in the summer

It was a bit of bleurgh day and I'm not at all happy that I had to chase our bathroom suppliers yet again, and although the builder had put off his next job to come here on Monday, the supplier is now saying they wont have the goods until Wednesday - it could well mean that we don't get finished until the week after next!
(I say finished, I still haven't found a decorator as yet, but IMOM is sidetracked and thinking should we buy a new bed for our guest room!)

Oh and it's been both cold and very, very wet today too.

How about you? How's work going?

BG, well done, that's excellent. At least you only have one area that needs special attention, and you also have time to focus on that too - congratulations.

@ Gill......OMG the bathroom is turning into a EPIC isn't it?! What a nightmare - but will be beautiful when finished.
I wish I could send you my decorator - he's FAB (as well as quiet and tidy, polite, helpful, friendly etc)

BG - that's good news that you can make up marks in the secon part of the stats course. As Gill says only 1 part that needs attention - I know you can do it ! (you're so smart )

Do believe I cried because I passed and not because I failed... I am quite motivated and have time now (smart move to postpone my thesis until next year - am really proud I did that!!)

It's annoying because we ordered and paid in such good time, and it's annoying to have disruption in the house for so long - it should only have taken 2-2½ weeks to do the two jobs (plus decorating)
and it's annoying that it inconveniences our builder who's a really nice chap.

However, I keep reminding myself that we have other bathrooms, so we're not that inconvenienced in the scheme of things, and that if we lived in Haiti, we'd really know what inconvenience was (and then some!)

Anyway, to brighter things - at the weekend we're going up to Borough Market to meet friends and have lunch. Might venture out to Bluewater on Sunday, and Tuesday I have an appointment for a very long overdue eye test - hopefully I'll get some lenses again, it's been too long without and I could do with a nice snazzy pair of specs as a standby, as mine are way out of date.

I looked in to the Ortho K lenses but took advice that they probably wouldn't be right for me, so now I've sorted that one out, I feel a bit more energised to get sorted.

Oh and then the next Saturday I'm having my hair highlighted, and the Sunday after, the 28th, is the day we go to Wembley for the football final! Busy week ahead.

Tonight I'm going to have a sofa chav-fest and watch the Ch4 documentary about Gypsy/Traveller Weddings, OMG some of the photos are just astounding!!!

Well, Gill, you're right of course, plenty of worse things than having to wait for the bathroom to be finished, but it's the waste of time and effort that's annoying isn't it!

If you want I can ask my decorator if he'd travel to you - he's pretty good (not pricey either) ...he might be ready to do it ...let me knowif you're stuck and / or can't be bothered to look.

Ooh yes Wembley.........that will be great for you.

Anyone want to recommend a nice restaurant in Prague for oH's birthday celebration..somethine lovely but traditional ??
(maybe Bee will come later on Smile )

Wish thank you!!!

Gill, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, even though you have other bathrooms, you're disrupted and so is the builder. You have a lot of nice things to look forward too, enjoy them!!!

(Am going to get myself a drink after the vet's been, I wish I could share a bottle with you guys!!)

Thanks Wish, kind of you, but it's a wee bit far I think.

OH is fuming, as he says if he did business like this he'd be out of a job.
At least I'm at home during the day, if I'd booked time off work I'd be gunning for someone for sure!

Never been to Prague, so I'm afraid I don't know, have you looked on Trip Advisor?

Gill, I do think it's far, but his wife works in Birmingham each week, so he's more than ready to travel I think and ...you know, if business is slow, t's better to keep turnover...

I'm sure you'll find someone

yor OH is quite right, I have had the exact same conversation with my accountant!! He is costing me a lot of money, my returns are always late and I just found out from my business bank manager that I can get a much better service for much less money (which is kind of ironic because it was him that recommended the guy I use in the first place) !!

We share a virtual drink BG *cheers*
Hope the cat's ok, Socks sneezes sometimes, but not in a worrying way - maybe he's as allergic to me as I am to him ROFL!

That's why I posted all those diary dates, firstly you know if I'm not around, but secondly to remind myself how much is coming up and going to be fun!

That IS ironic, and the doubly annoying fact that although you pay an accountant, ultimately YOU carry the can if the returns are late!
Our accountant used to be red hot (and cheap) which is why we've kept him on even though he's the other side of the country. That said he hasn't replied to my last couple of emails. hmmm.

I guess it might work for a decorator to travel and just work a week and stop over, then go home at the weekend. I'd consider that if our Liverpool guys were still in touch, they were brilliant.

Maybe I'm out of touch with prices - does your man have a day rate, or a guide price you could work out? I need good prep and then just painting, and we could buy all the materials.

Trouble is round here, I think they roll up and see a big house and then get greedy *sigh*

Sorry, finally got of the phone - he started babbling lol

ROFL, maybe Socks is allergic, who knows :p I know it's nothing bad when a cat sneezes, but he sneezes a lot lately and when I got home he sneezed like 20 times on a row, which made us phone the vet again...

Okay, I'll make a mental note you won't be around much then the next week, but I sure hope you enjoy your time sweetie!!!

Sorry, gotta scoot downstairs, in case the vet gets here (I am the only one who can pick up Mr. Sneeze)

Hmm, good question. I've been reading it's St Patricks day? Not sure if we have that as a holiday actually, if we celebrate it. I actually don't have much ideas that come farther as 'yummy wine' congratulations

I loove the silver border, it's fancy!
