It never occurred to me that Hobo could be politically incorrect or derogatory. Hobo was simply what one called the homeless back around the days of the Depression. Transients who traveled by hopping boxcars, looking for work. It can't be racist, it's not associated with any particular race. Just guys who are down-on-their-luck.
