"We heard a great deal of Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta players say they have been waiting eight long years for this launch. [laughs] So we were really happy about that." That laugh be a nervous (oops. Sorry) one and not a mocking one. It's in the end of a question about how hot the beta was. It reads as"lots more individuals played beta than expected, and informed us they'd been waiting eight long years with this - so people were pleased at how popular it had been" instead of"we had been happy people were awaiting eight years" Frankly I am just glad the game is out, it is doing well, we're really getting content upgrades and such.

So even if they did not care we seem to be in a fine place at this time and that's what's important. Just keep playing and supporting the game if you enjoy it and Sega will see that they have a decent enough player base here to not bungle things in the future. What a non answer for the why the 8 year wait question. Its obvious they lost interest long ago and just changed their mind with this release due to Microsoft practically funding it. All what has been said here makes really a lot of sense in retrospect. The clunky translation on account of the team not having much control over it, and the massive delay for the EN version. For those of you who do not remember, PS as a series has had a few really DOGSHIT customer support in the west, all the way back to PSO. Sega as a business has an extreme trend toward the crippling fear of earning cash.

Took this screenshot in the new trailer; reveals what is shared between PSO2 and NG

Gotta love how that dude's experience is gatchas along with the SEA fiasco, makes me feel so comfortable with the match future... SEGA simply do not like the west, and we would've never gotten this game if not for a significant firm like MS. I really don't know if it is because of bad history with cheaters from PSO /PSU, or still sore on buy PSO2 Meseta the Dreamcast's demise which was all thier own fault. Heck they arent even Sega anymore, they are Sega Sammy. How the mighty has fallen.
