You'll need to create an account on ClassiCube to join the Classic server.
From the account page, you can download the standalone client (which will allow you to join both Minecraft.net and ClassiCube.net servers) and upload a player skin. It's all very well optimized so you shouldn't have an issue with any versions of Java.

If there is a CMP world, I'd say it would be better suited on the SMP server itself. I couldn't get the CMP server working the way I intended, with multiple worlds and realms in the same vein as Classic. I just don't have the resources and/or expenses to run a server that extensive. -

We're running the latest version of 800craft Plus. There was a bug with a portal linking to Entrance that was causing the map to become corrupted. It should be fixed now. Turns out when you link a portal to that map, using "entrance" doesn't cut it. The system is case sensitive. -

I've set all of those game rules to false though I'm not sure the last two will serve a purpose if spawn-monsters is disabled in the server.properties file. -

Hey guys. You all might be interested in this...
I set up a vanilla CMP server (Minecraft 1.5) @ cmp.allinthemined.com (or 96.47.239.19:25565).
Keep in mind there are no plugins! When a stable Bukkit release is available, we can start developing the server from the ground up and introduce ranks and other features prominent in Classic.
I thought you folks would be the first to know.

Sorry guys. Seems like there was some kind of conflict with IP addresses after maintenance was completed. Both servers should be working now. -

I took it down as it didn't exactly progress anywhere. Just experimenting for the most part.

It wasn't down, minecraft.net just changed the way it registers server heartbeats.
All is fixed thanks to an update for 800craft. -

I played it up until the giant squid thing that gets fried by the rocket. The door at the bottom of the rocket chamber wont open for me. I remember reading somewhere that the game was cut short, is that where it was cut?
