MZ 0 Posted February 8, 2012 This is what Notch said when a swedish reporter interviewed him:Markus Persson: Okay to download my game illegallyTo Markus Persson is pretty liberal when it comes to illegal downloading is already known. But now he urges his poor fans to actually download pirated copies of "Minecraft".While the game has reached an incredible 20 million users.Markus Persson's not like other developers. Especially when dealing with the thorny problem of illegal downloading. "Minecraft" creator did illustrate his views on the subject when he visited the Game Developers Conference last year.- Piracy is not theft, said Persson then. If you steal a car to clear the original. If you copy a game, there's simply more of them in the world. There's nothing like a "lost sale". Is a bad review a lost sale? Or maybe a missed release dates?Last week, Persson clarified that this argument is still valid. A fan Persson announced via Twitter that he could not afford to buy "Minecraft" and wondered if he could get a free account - otherwise he would obtain the game illegally. Something that Persson was not in the least puzzled over.- Just download it, he wrote. If you still like it when you can afford it in the future, buy it then. And do not forget to be embarrassed a little. This attitude has apparently paid off. The game has sold 4.6 million copies and the free version did the other day, amazing 20 million users. Persson put it all in perspective, once again on Twitter:- If you drank a gallon a day, it would take a million years to drink 20 million people in the liquid state.Notch approves this message!
