TV help

Brought a new TV towards the end of last year and i can with a samsung wireless lan adaptor connect to a wireless network (not got the adaptor) they are about £50-£60 and they say you need the samsung one ,
If i go and spend the money and get one what are the benefits ?
can you explain in simple terms , I am only a bricklayer Embarassed

I am a Mechanic each to our own mate, nowt wrong being a bricky, Very Happy what you after doing using your tv as a flat screen monitor?you knocked this set up ok though.......

No , I think I can connect up to my network/pc and watch stuff from the internet like youtube iplayer and i think you can subscribe to stuff , dont really know confused

I rigged my lap top up to the Tv it was a novalty that soon wore off.plus I could not get a full tv screen pic dunno why ive no idea and I had no sound only though lap top I am recon its do able but naaaaaaaaa.

my son uses his 32 inch tv as a monitor ill ask him to explain how he did it when he comes in

you will be able to stream films, programmes to your tv via your broadband connection, iplayer, itv catch up service, ect, any ones that you stream to your comp can be done on your tv, if the Sony one is capable you could also stream films, music ect from your comp to your tv. if there is a browser software built in you can also browse the net as you do on your comp.
streaming podcasts, radio ect can also be played on the tv. google tv is a gud example, although only available in the us at the moment,

Dave as its a new tv have a look and see if it has a usb port on it, recently discovered ours will play films etc straight from a memory stick slotted in to it .
