Remember the night during 50 lap event with Don getting involved in an early tangle. The crew worked on the car on the 3rd turn grass at every caution. Don had to start in the rear each time. With enough yellows and repair work each time, Don worked his way to the front and captured the hardware.

It is my understanding (don't remember the source) that Wild Bill attempted to join the SNRYA several times. The "review board" along with some members did not want some "new" outsider come in and kick names and take asphalt. I guess eventually they relaxed and finally granted Wild Bill admittance. (Not the Wild Bill that worked on Jimmy Smith's Doc's Road Apples).

There was also a speedway in West Haven at Savin Rock , I think it was called Donovan Field. Wild Bill Greco raced there before it closed.

I think Gino(RIP) was very difficult to pass. He was certainly was good at holding up the show,backing around the track in reverse. Crwd would voice their disapproval and Gino would just wave and laugh.
