  1. Update on this dream.

I feel that this dream has manifested. I have in the past three weeks learnt of the death of one of the people that I think were being mightly used by God. A pastor who brought me to the Lord, taught me a lot and led me to Christ has gone to be with the Lord. He had been ill for quite some time, and it is a possibility that when I had this dream he was already unwell. Someone reported (online condolences) that he had been unwell for about a year, spending his final 8 months in hospital. I did not know about his illness because I have since moved homes and was not attending his church anymore, but still watched his sermons on TV. Of late though, I was wondering why there were so many repeat screenings of his sermons.

The feeling that I had in this dream, feeling honoured to have been allowed to touch this vessel is the same feeling that I have IRL, having sat under his leadership.

WOW!!! I am just amazed. I had completely forgotten about this dream, just stumbled upon it this morning and the interpretation just jumped out to me. I am in awe of God!! He does tell us things in the future.

  2. Thanks, and i agree with you on the end of season. To be honest, my thoughts are all over the place on the rest of the dream. It would be nice if indeed the sunset signified the end of a season because I have been going through a looooong season of issues in my life that I wish would come to an end.

Sometimes I just give up trying to figure what my dreams mean. To answer your qn on what the red background means to me, I'ld say it stands for the blood of Jesus, seeing as I saw the lion later. I know it was a good dream and I will pray about it and leave it to God to reveal the whole meaning.

    Thanks for your input.

  3. Hi Christie85

I do not have an interpretation for this dream, but came across it while searching for the meaning of sunset in dreams. I had a sunset dream as well, with differences. I thought may be we would share our thoughts here (I do realize that this is an old topic.)

I was looking at the sky, and saw the sun set, red background and partly covered by clouds. The surprising thing was that the sun was directly overhead, in the position that it would be at midday, but it looked like it would look at sunset (hope this is clear.)

Then as I am looking, the sun gets completely overcast by clouds, and the clouds gather in the form of a lion. Three times the clouds move to form the picture of a lion; the face, the side view of the whole lion x2. I got very excited and started shouting out, "Look at that, that's the Lion of Judah, that's the Lion of Judah." EOD.

My own attempt at interpreting this dream:
Sunset - end of the day. An end to a season that I may be going through. But why is it in the midday position?
Cloud formation in the shape of a lion - Our Lord Jesus overshadowing the sunset.

I thought it was a comfort dream, but I am open to other interpretations.

    Any views, please?? Thank you.

  4. Thanks Astra, for you have helped a lot. I will continue to pray for my friend so that God himself through the power of the HS ministers to her; because everytime I try to point her to the Word, she gives me answers that make me frustrated and indeed I feel burnt-out. Only God can make her heart receptive to His word.

I have come to the conclusion that all I can do is pray, pray and pray more for her.

  5. Hi Astra

Thanks a lot for such thoughtful and well-meaning advice. You have made me realize that in a way I was being judgmental of my friend and seeing myself as holier than thou art; pride that the Lord hates. I repent of my sin and will continue to pray for my friend and give her the support that she needs, bearing in mind that I too am a sinner who needs help. Thanks for helping me realize the error of my ways.

God bless you and may he continue to work through you.

  6. Hi tbsmilesbig

As you read this response please disregard if you still feel it does not sit right with your spirit. I felt I would explain a bit more where I am coming from. May be there is a different meanng to this symbol, I do agree.

I also understand that the men in this dream are not married to you. However, the similarities that caused me to give my experience as an example are not based on the commitment or lack of; but merely on the fact that a man is wearing unusual/female clothes/shoes in the dream; regardless of whether they are married to you or not.

In your post you state that "the man I am interested in" is wearing a dress while talking to me (dream 1). I probably misunderstood this bit, but I took it to mean that you were drawn to this person or looking forward to developing a relationship with them. Sorry if I interpreted this wrongly, but if this is right could this mean that although you are interested in this man, he has someone else in his life; may be a girlfriend?

But, again on reading your original post again, I agree that there may be a different meaning of the dress symbol, especially when taking your second dream into consideration. The only thing that I can say though is that IRL a man wearing a dress is unusual and may denote something that is not expected for a man.

You say though that in the dream you were not fazed by it all. Feelings do play an important part in our dreams. However, I have often noticed that in most of my dreams almost all things seem normal; it's only when I wake up that I realize how unusual some things are.

Please understand that I am not trying to force my opinion down your throat, but felt like elaborating more.

  7. Hie tbsmilesbig

I know your post is more than 2 weeks old, but thought I'ld share my own experience with you, if it helps.

At one time I dreamt that my husband was wearing women's shoes, and I knew the dream was significant but had no idea what it meant. In time I learnt that he was communicating with and even scheduling meetings with his ex-lover behind my back. This is as far as I got to know; but who knows, they may have gone further than that. So my dream was telling me that there was another woman in his life.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Hi everyone.
I need some help concerning my relationship with a friend. I have pondered over this for a long time now, but still not sure about how to proceed.

I have known this friend for more than twenty years and at one time we were the best of friends. With time I moved to a different country, and for the past 12 years we have kept in touch erratically, sometimes going for 6 months without any communication. This friend calls herself a christian, but her actions do not reflect her beliefs. For example, she has confessed to me that she was having an affair with a married man, this was when sh herself was also married (now divorced; she left her husband. To be fair to her, she was in an abusive relationship. Not judging her decision to quit.) However, what I did not agree with was her act of adultery, and causing another woman pain. I tried all I could to make her see sense, to no avail. She continued with the affair, which went beyond her divorce, lasting about two years or slightly less.

In an unfortunate turn of events, this past April she was diagnosed with cancer. I tried as much as I could to be supportive of her, at one time even giving her financial assistance. She is still going through the treatment. The reason why I bring her illness in this is to make this point; I feel drained with this relationship, but I feel bad cutting ties with her now because I know she needs support.

I however feel that this friendship has run it's course and I do not want to continue in it. I came to this conclusion recently when I visited my native country and this friend came to my home to see me. All she talked about for her whole visit was how difficult she is finding it to get a new man, basically her current problem, from what I see, is not getting healed from the cancer, but her need for a man. Her problem is not even concern for her her eight year old daughter who might be left without a mother, but where and how to get a man.

While I understand that we are flesh and blood and we do have needs in that area, I just could not understand how she could be so bothered by her sexual needs in the face of such health issues. To be honest, I feel that there is a spirit that is manifesting itself in her life and has now managed to destroy her marriage, brought her the illness, and is keeping her mind so pre-occupied by sexual matters so as to prevent her from seeking the face of Jehovah to receive her healing. I have tried praying with her, going through bible verses with her, but her responses are, e.g "Well, the bible does say my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit but.......what am I supposed to do sexually.....my husband doesn't touch me anymore.......(regarding the adulterous affair) I am almost 40, where do I get a single man of that age?"

Long story short, I do not want to associate with this friend anymore. What should I do? Thanks for your advice in advance.

  9. Thanks for your thoughts Sunny, much appreciated.

I agree with you that the light represents God's light that He wants to shine in me, and that it will also shine on others in darkness. Regarding the mess, there was no visible mess as such, but it was in my thoughts in the dream; generally pigeons or any bird will defacate everywhere, creating a mess. It's not as if they had already done so, it was me dreading that possibility. Which worries me, because I can see the light and the birds are of God, but my attitude was not right. Could it be that I am dreading the responsibility that comes with what God is about to do in my life? Like you said, may be God wants to "clean up" my attitude. I am praying that I change and accept whatever God is trying to do in my life.

After this dream I got curious as to the meaning of pigeons, as compared to doves and what the Word says about them. I cannot quote the scriptures here but I noted that where God instructed His people to use doves, in most cases He would ask them to present either doves or pigeons - whichever the person was able to provide. Meaning that to God pigeons are in the same class as doves, or so I think; because in the dream I was not sure if they were doves or pigeons.

I agree with you that the Lord wants to lead me to some place, but as to the question of where; it's not clear to me yet.

Thank you Sunny for prompting my thoughts, because as I am writing this there are some aspects of the dream that are getting clearer to me.

  10. Hi Chi.

Thanks for your response; I found the info useful.

A bit of background to my present situation. Of late I have really been seeking God, my prayer being that I want to know more of Him, and asking the Holy Spirit (our helper) to fill me anew.

I am spending hours on end just soaking into his Word, and am very excited about what God is revealing to me. The bible, the Word is so illuminated, and I know that I have a renewed, deeper relationship with God. So after my prayers last night, I feel this dream contains God's answer, but am confused.

Based on the above thread discussions, maybe God is warning me that my actions may hinder my relationship with Him. Will continue to pray.

  11. Hi WhiteShadow

I am not an interpretor; what I am going to say here is my own thinking and what I have learnt through my own dreams and relating them to situations IRL.

For me the road usually denotes my journey in life, with cars in most (but not all) cases meaning my endevours. The bible says that the devil is a thief who comes to destroy (John 10:10 NKJV), and rob us of the abundant life that Christ Jesus wants to give us. In your dream you were expecting a deal to take place; is there anything IRL that you are expecting the Lord God to bless you with, an upgrade of your current situation?
It appears there is a spiritual attack and you are involved in spiritual warfare. I take this from where you say you beat the thief into submission despite your gentle nature. In Ephesians 6:12 NKJV Paul tells to put on the amour of God and fight......the devil is not going to stand by and watch us experience the abundant life God intended for us.
On the bright side, it seems you have heavenly helpers advocating/helping you in your case. In my dreams the police denote authority, Jehovah God. Phone calls are prayers. The two helpers are part of a large operation working on catching the thieves. Looks like spiritual warfare between the devil and the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus knows satan is operating on earth (for now, until the set time).

As for getting your Jeep back, I think this calls for prayer so that you can get back what the enemy has stolen from you. The positive thing is that God has already shown you that he is on your case, so He will answer your prayers and restore your Jeep/blessings to you.

Like I said above, this is totally my two cents. Please discard whatever doesn't minister to your spirit.

  12. I had a short dream.
My husband, our son and I were standing by our front door. It was nightfall, already dark outside. I was about to lock our door for the night. Suddenly the outside light came on, and I tried to turn it off without success. Light was flooding the front of our house. Then we saw 3 or 4 doves/pigeons fly onto the front of the house, but after they landed on the yard, we could not physically see them but were aware of their presence. I said to my husband that it was the light that had attracted the pigeons - and (worringly) in the dream it seemed like a bad thing. I was worried about the mess that the pigeons will make and how I would have to clean up in the morning. It was also as if the light was bad for attracting the birds, but for some reason it was not possible to turn it off. In the end I just gave up and accepted that the birds would be there and would probably leave once it was day time again. In the dream I also noticed that of the whole street and neighbourhood. all the houses had their lights out, it was darkness everywhere with only our house fully lit, even with lights outside. I also saw a couple walking to their car, and noticed that they could see because of the light from our house, otherwise they would be in total darkness.

Yet for some reason it seems I felt it was wrong to have lights on when everyone else had theirs turned off. It was as if I was trying to fit in with everyone else.

What worries me is that upon waking up, I realized that light and doves/pigeons are a positive thing, but why did I have this feeling in my dream; not embracing them?

  13. Thank you Mark for sharing your thoughts. I must say I agree totally that the snake represents a person. I will add some background info.

The previous day I had watched a video of a 'prophet' who is reportedly doing 'amazing miracles' in Nigeria. This persons predictions are very accurate, and he claims to be serving Jehovah God, and casts out demons in the name of Jesus Christ. However, something did not sit right in my spirit, although I cannot put my finger on it. While watching this video I made a remark to my husband, reminding him that the fact that someone can tell the future accurately does not mean they are being used by the Holy Spirit; even the devil can tell the future. As soon as I said these words I regretted it; for fear of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I thought to myself "What if they are genuinely being used by the Holy Spirit? Who am I to judge?" Before I went to bed I prayed on this issue, earnesly asking God to forgive me if I had blasphemed, and to reveal the truth about this person. so when I had this dream I knew exactly what it was about, but needed confirmation and more insight on issues I may have missed.

To answer your question, I am not in transition in the physical realm. I am thinking this may be in the Spiritual realm.

Thank you for your interpretation; it's bang on target.

  14. Hi everyone

I would really appreciate your help in interpreting this dream. Sorry it's a bit long.

I had a dream last night. I was in a mountaneous place, and it appeared I had been in this place for a few days, as if camping under some bushes. It was starting to get dark. I was with a friend (girl I was friends with from high school), but she was a distance away from me, and out of my sight. She called out to me to say we should go back home, before it got too dark. I then noticed that I was naked, and put on a dress.

I started gathering my stuff to leave, at which point I noticed that I had my 4 yr old son with me. I picked him up intending to strap him on my back, so that I could free my hands to carry the stuff; but he started being funny and refused to be carried on my back. I then carried him under my arm, noticed my bible on the ground and thought I cannot leave my bible; picked it up, then also picked up my mobile phone, and put it inside my dress, as if putting it inside my bra. I then realized that I cannot carry anymore things, but had wanted to take with me a lit lamp that was lighting the place. I reasoned that I had better blow the flame out and leave the lamp, which I did reluctantly, and started leaving.

When I had walked about 5 metres from the spot, my son shouted "Snake, snake!!". I turned back to see this huge cobra snake at the place that I had been. I wondered if the snake had been there the whole time or if it had appeared upon my leaving. But I thought it must have got there after I left or else it would have attacked me. The place was once again lit, which surprised me, and I was thinking; I put the lamp out, but the place is still lit. I then noticed that the light was coming from the mouth of the snake, and it was as bright as that previously given by the lamp. The snake was eating/trying to swallow a piece of dead wood. I felt relieved that I was out of its reach, and I was getting out of the place. Then I woke up.

  15. Thanks Mark.

I agree with your thoughts that the dream is related to a person and to impending retirement. Soon after posting this dream the Holy Spirit gave me a clue that I had not thought about before. A boat or a plane can be called a vessel, and in various places in the bible God refers to people as vessels.

Thanks for responding to my post.
