Wow, this year has been crazy! I remember exactly one year ago, my mom said "Meghan, this american idol guy is just a phase. There's no way you'll stil llike him in a year." I sure proved her wrong, because I definitley love him more now as a person and a musician than I did a year ago. He's proved that this whole obsession is worth it! Can't wait for whats to come

Questions for DC Interview and in-depth AH vs. DCTR Discussion

Wow. I never really looked at it that way, and that really made me think. I always figured the main differences had to do with the lyrics and musical styles, but youre right, production plays a big part in it too. I think that the music and lyrics DO play a huge part, but with DCTR, he had people giving him advice and telling him what to do, and it was produced for the specific purpose of being commercial and radio-ready. With AH, David did what he wanted to do with out thought or regard, I'm sure, to the commercial viability of his record. He just did it all from his heart and hoped that people would stand up and take notice and pay him $5 for a copy after one of his shows. (GAH to have BEEN there!!!!) When you really think about how different the circumstances were when creating both records, it really makes it hard to compare. It's like apples to oranges. All you can do is appreciate the beauty in both of them (And to get AH for $5, when was selling for like $800 on ebay a little while ago,WOW! I wish!) -

I think that he sounds better live than on the record, especially with the new arrangements of his songs and covers. That probably also gives us a clue as to where he wants to head with his second album. -

I disagree with that statement. I mean yeah, it is easier to follow and stuff, but then you don't get the fans who are "worth" having. Like IMO Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco have VERY metaphorical lyrics. That's all they write and they have HUGE success. I feel like every fan is "worth" having. No matter if they only bought CBTM on iTunes or if they have been to 30 concerts and have 7 copies of DCTR. There are going to be fans that will continue to follow David's career, new fans, and fans who decided that they didnt like how his music was progressing. All of these types of fans will have some type of impact on his career. -

I was talking on a different thread about one of his other shirts (a G-rated one from pac sun) and got the conversations mixed up. Sorry about that! Oh yeah. I bought a few of his pac sun shirts. Like the one in your avi? -
