Zoonie 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Evening BG, are you feeling better? How did the exams go? (I feel SO out of touch with everyone)I haven't even touched the new bit of PS, it's all I can do to log on and try and find Hideeni!
Toulouse 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Oh Z, lovely to see you!!Not feeling better to be honest, I feel miserable... I was gonna hit the books, but I failed that goal big time. Luckily I always work a lot in advance, so I was in a way able to take the day off (always in case of emergencies). I am more then exhausted, felt sick all day, but that's finally over so I could enjoy homegrown strawberries and cherries for dinner :-) But am definitely going to bed really early!Exams... Well, I dunno to be honest, the more I think of it, the more I doubt about everything. The last one I had (yesterday) really wore me out, but there's still 2 more to go (luckily next week)How are you? I try to keep up with the messages you post
Frannie 0 Posted June 16, 2010 It's really not that great, but cheaper than misrry boxes and lasts a bit longer

Zoonie 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Whoop I just got the England Hideeni flag - just need Brazil now!BG, just relax, everyone says it, but fussing and worrying wont change things - just do what you can do sensibly, no one can ask more, and we know you're not a slacker.I've been missing everyone Has Wish been around since her trip?
Toulouse 0 Posted June 16, 2010 Yeah I try to stay calm and not stress about it, but I am pretty amazed I am so exhausted actually. Anyhow, I hope all of this pays off in the end :-)

Zoonie 0 Posted June 16, 2010 LOL, sounds like the Wizard of Oz Frannie! Our weather is weird, it's unseasonally cold and quite a strong breeze. My bare feet are cold on the stone floor, and so's my nose (although it's not on the floor, obviously)

Toulouse 0 Posted June 16, 2010 I hope I'll be fine then actually, I love warm weatherI'm not such a huge fan of the cold, seems I hurt more then (strange, because it would seem the other way around)
Frannie 0 Posted June 16, 2010 no I understand exactly. I hurt more when the weather is cold as well. Today seems expecially brutal in FL though.. it is 96 with humidity making it feel

Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Good morning anyone around? it's sunny today but quite strong wind I want some nice hot weather. I have now got my flight confirmation for my visit back home so now I can start sorting out my schedule while I'm there - I already got notes from 4 people who wants to see me when I'm home
Zoonie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Oooh exciting Bee.Hiya Mindy, have you found something to do with your free time? It's cold here, but I either have a cold, or rampant hay fever. itchy nose, sneezing, runny eyes and nose, eeeuuuw.Right now, I'm listening to Radio 5Live, interviewing fans out in South Africa. Later on I have to go out for chores and some shopping.
Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Hello Zoonie it's been a while - house decorating/sorting keeping you busy? I hope you starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now I have now (well last night) managed to finish flag collection YAY! I think that's first Hideeny collection that I have finished (maybe apart from roses but I'm not sure about that). Hope you feel better soon - I'm just enjoying nice hot cup of nettle and sweet fennel tea
Frannie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Good morning! Another early night last night ... so I get see you two.
Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 oh I just checked my BMI on SW website (while looking for some idea what to do with kidneys I bough yesterday) and it says my BMI is 24.77 - finally in "healthy" range. That makes me feel good
Zoonie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Thanks Bee.IMOM says lots of people sneezing etc. on the trains, so not sure if he's brought some germs home, or if it is hay fever?I've 3 or 4 more rooms to sort out, but what's done looks lovely. Waiting now to get about 20 doors planed, as they're scuffing the carpet (we have 8 doors on our wardrobes, some are ok and some not) - once that's done, and the missing bit for the bathroom radiator turns up, I can have a rest lol.I'm still flag hunting and so's IMOM! Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Frannie - I'm slowly working on my recipe website (Kijo done some picture adjustments for me). I have not got any english version of czech recipes on that yet - currently working on one translation but I will in due course. Would you mind checking the site (it's got some english recipes) and let me know what you think? (http://)petra.jirusova.tripod.com
Frannie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Remember Bee, that I have the luxury of catching a quick nap in the morning.. and alsmost every afternoon. I just can't sleep straight hours... my body gets too dstiff
Zoonie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 That will be great Bee, thanks. I keep getting repeats. My connection is playing up this morning again, grrrr. and I don't have long, I have to pay some bills and I can't find one of them anywhere - just found one other and the cheque books, so that's a step forward lol.Frannie, I used to get 7 or 8 hours a night and sleep like a log - since I started getting disturbed sleep, I can't believe it, even though it's been a few years now. Strange.Sometimes if I sleep through, I still feel tired when I get up - guess I can't quite believe it
Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 well everyone is different and what works for one might not work for other but I do like the idea of naps
Frannie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 looks good Bee! Is that a recipe for Houska?
Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 Frannie wrote:looks good Bee! Is that a recipe for Houska?thanks Frannie no it's Vanocka - it's bigger version of houska but sweet. Houska is more like a bap but with different shape. Vanocka is cross between a cake and a bread and it's traditionally done at Christmas time.
Frannie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 my recipe page needs a bit of updating.. Have quite a few new ones that I've tried and have not added. So much easier for me to find something all in one place. And I really hate using the old recipe cards, but I love having them. Especially the hand written ones that others have given me. A bit of history attached to them
Zoonie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 I wandered, was voting for this lady's Food Blog via Twitter/The Observerhttp://www.meemalee.com/Her last blog is a bit bleurgh mind you!

Bee1 0 Posted June 17, 2010 on of the things I'm looking forward to when gettin home is Rohlik. it's long shaped bread roll (sometimes can be crescent shape). It's just white bread roll but there is something about it that makes me miss it and round bread rolls just won't do. Maybe it's childhood memories rohlikthis one is called Karlovarsky Rohlik and it's made in Karlovy Vary (well not exclusively any more but it's kind of trademark name now) - I live 10 minutes bus ride from Karlovy Vary. and this is HOUSKA
Frannie 0 Posted June 17, 2010 mmm looks so good. Houska was very popular where I used to live.... or at least what they called houska. It had raisins though

NO poppy seed rolls or bread! the culture shock!like me moving to London - we have local bakery in my town where I grew up so I was used to daily baked bread etc. still warm when it hit shelves twice a day. it took me a while but some larger supermarkets here do have in-store bakeries but the bread is not the same like back home
