Over in the wonderful "favorite song/performance of the day" thread Peggy posted this banter compilation video as one of her faves. David's banter and eloquence during interviews are a huge part of why his live shows are so incredible and his connection to the fans is so real.

I wasn't even at this show, but I have this banter saved to my favorites on YouTube. I seriously crack up laughing EVERY TIME I watch this. How can you not?! The sound effects he makes are priceless.

This is my video from Kean Univ. in Union NJ. I know there's a better version out there, but I can't find it.

When David says to Monty ... It's your job to keep me from saying those things" Monty extended his arm and rubbed his fingers together, as in need money! That's why David said Monty just got a raise.

Reason this is one of my favorites is I got to meet David a few weeks later, and I made David laugh by using Monty's little gesture - David told me that I just got a raise!

Ok seeing how i don't know how to do this but the best banter for me was and still is the only show i attended was i believe its in the very first video at Niagara THE HAT . I love the banter videos there all great thanks for comming up with this thread.

All of these are great! Funny to see my Thackerville one in the part 4 video-nice how she put all of them together and credits at the end! He is so damn entertaining!

I actually laughed out loud at the one in part two with Elvis in Shawnee! I had not seen it before and to hear David impersonate Elvis singing during CBTM cracked me up!

These are so funny! I went on youtube to see what random stuff I might find and this short clip was too funny. The way he just picks up something and runs with it makes me laugh!

I absolutely love this one. This was the banter at Nokia (my last show of Declaration Tour ) where he is having pics thrown at him and he is throwing them and then he says to stop cause he has people from the label there, and then realizes what he said, and gets all embaressed. So cute.

OH MY. THIS IS A VERY TOUGH ONE FOR ME. Think Im gonna post a banter daily to complete my all time favorite ones, lol.

Im gonna start with two.

DIRTY DAVID, LMAO.
This one, I remembered watching it on a very late night, and I laughed soo hard that I woke up my sister scaring the hell out of her.

And...

One of the funniest banters I ever seen. Kinda disrespectful because during LIE perfomance, its a sacred moment that nobody has to interrupt it. But it made LMAO not the shoutout by itself, but the fact that everybody followed the lead with the shoutout. And well... EYE OF THE TIGER FTW.


Which leads me...

Aida! I was at the second one which was the Davie show and the third one too which was Orlando the night before! He was in rare form with the tour coming to a close!

In the Davie one, it was apparently a really drunk girl who was pretty far up there which was a good thing as some people who were closer to her said she was originally shouting some obscene things!

I love the Orlando one! From Thanksgiving dinner & cornhole to porn music & trophies you never know what kind of comical journey his mind will take you on!

Here is another funny Orlando one with a young girl and her sign "Will work for backstage passes!" Just watching his face when he talks to her and some other people "not in her group" is too funny!

Barb, on the Davie show, it totally made me LMAO the fact that it was the first time that I ever heard such a weird shoutout. Well for me it isnt ,since its a Latin expression. But to be said to Dave, thats what makes me laugh sooo much.
Im still confused if the first shoutout was F--- me or Papi, even eventually that´s what people started to yell during banter after all. But his reaction was priceless and how he handled it!
I showed it to my Mom and she told me she wouldnt be surprised if I were that woman instead. WTF?! LOL.

And agree, Orlando was the concert with the BEST BANTERING. TOTALLY HILARIOUS.

The first shout out was F-me from what people closer could hear. I was up front and this person was way over on the side up high so I could not see her or hear her well either. Apparently neither could David until he got closer maybe, so I am guessing that is why he moved back and did him Charlie Brown whaa whaa talk!

The Orlando one also had this banter with this young tall kid named Christian. We met him and his half brother Austin before the show while waiting in line for hours! Really nice kids and it was actually Christian's 15th birthday but David did not hear some of us yell that. This show was his present from his Dad. They worked their way up front and center which was great! This video is from a little further back but you can see Monty give him one of Kyle's drumsticks!

Today's favorite is classic David. This was Nokia and Andrew was there. David was in rare form during this show. Nokia was so much fun! God I miss tour!

This is the performance when David stepped away from the mic and began singing, some guy yelled "Go back to the mic".

OMG, I remember when that Pork Beans came out. We were in West Virginia at the State Fair show. Got back to our hotel room after the show, still laughing our asses off - that was the night of the first appearance of Green Man along with all the other GRO antics, and found that had been posted during the day.

I still can't figure out how the front desk didn't get called on us. We were playing that full blast on my laptop at like 3:00 am, laughing hysterically.

This banter was from the St Pete show when David talked about Shattered Dreams and the zap2it.com voting. It was too funny as he was looking for votes and then his "bees knees" comment and his own reaction to actually saying those words-hilarious!
