dick65 0 Posted March 9, 2011 ive been working up the fells today and coming home i was caught in a freak snow blizzard, coming down a steep hill there was no way i could brake or stop and my visor was covered in snow, next thing i knew the front end went sending me into a ditch the bike was just lying there this all happened at about 5mph,not much damage except the frame where the heel plate bolts on has been pushed in ive tried bending it out but its not having it can anyone suggest anything? cheers dick. E.goldstein 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Glad your ok and up and about ok. At Redcar Suzuki Leicester I know they have a bike frame Jig, if you can find some with the same sort of set up for starting out frames they should be able to help.To be hoisted if the bike has take quite a knock I would put the bike on a Jig anyway just in case, with it being a tube steel frame you can get them strained, Ally frames are another ball game.E.goldstein “they watching you”! flange 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Sorry to hear m8.Is it just the lug bits with the tread it thats bent or the actual main thick bit of the frame.Im guessing its just the bit where the threads are.If it is i bent some back once.I bought 3 bolts that fitted the threads(m8 i think) that where about 3 inches long.Wound them in then got a bar that fitted over the bolts and bent them back a bit at a time

gravelrash 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Glad you've got off relatively lightly dick, think flange has the right idea using leverage to bend the lugs back hope you get sorted and your fingers mend soon!
