its getting worse, must be the valve guides as compression is fine, using more oil - nuisance

no problem with performance just the smoke issue, nothing like a two stoke but other motorcyclists I've been out with have commented.

It's an xj 600 naked 1999, mechanic says he can sort it but it will take two weeks to do minimum as he is busy with other commitments, looks like I will have to leave it until Christmas as he suggests.

theres an additive you can put in your oil to help mate read about it in the sunday paper a few months ago by quentin wilson he swears by it

do a wet and dry compression test, youtube will show you how, this will tell you if its valve stem seals or piston oil rings.
