Just got my fruit - WB Kijo, I've banned any more games, especially for the summer.

Have been to check up on one of our nest boxes and the little birds have fledged - good news, but kind of sad they're gone.

The trouble is, I didn't realise she'd be like this, but she keeps ringing more and more, just as though she's here in the room with me - she's apparently fallen out with one of her other friends, as she doesn't think she's giving her enough time (this other friend has recently had her daughter and brand new baby come to live with her) - am realising friend has used this as an excuse to 'distance' herself from this needy friend.
Friend has taken offence - but the thing is, she can't see how demanding she is.

I think I'm getting the fallout from this



I've never really been a game player at all Kijo, but it's not so much that I don't like new games, just that I found PS far too time consuming and don't want to get sucked in again

Agreed Zoonie - I only have PS and Farmville and I hardly have time for them. I don't play any other games (had fishville for a while but stopped long ago).
There is not enough hours in a day and having them blocked FB at work is not helping

Zoonie maybe you should think of an excuse to get out of her phone calls too or you will end up going crazy (and won't have time to do any of your own work).

It's not nice, but the alternative would be to simply say I can't spend all this time keeping her company - which is the message she got from her other friend.

The thing is, she never thinks anyone else is likely to be doing anything if she isn't doing anything.

The odd thing is that on News 24 they have a man signing the news for deaf people, and he has a resemblance to the picture behind him, of the man they're seeking!

We're just having a conversation about getting rid of a leather suite, which I have such a soft spot for, but which doesn't really go in the room (which is L shaped) and a TV we bought a few years ago, which was a big mistake - it weighs an absolute ton! (no joking)

We donated our old oven to a Hastings charity, am wondering if they'll come and collect the other stuff before Monday, which is when the carpet fitters arrive!

Well

IMOM is injured, he sustained bad burns to one arm and smashed the back of the other hand over the weekend (he slipped on the kitchen tiles) - on the mend now though.

New Everhot is fab - although of course it's warmed up here today, so I turned the ovens and simmer plate off until later (a benefit over other ranges) It looks just beauuuu-tiful

The suite, long story, it's positively ancient, but in such good nick, hard to tell from new, and really solid, It's a kind of light pistachio come olive green, very soft colour, based on a chesterfield style, but with loose seat cushions, so not quite so formal looking if you get my drift?
But as the room's L shaped, it really ought to have two times two seater sofas, or a two and a three.

It's stood as it is for 9 years mind - we never go in there anyway

LOL at the "sofa" ours is the same story - we never go in the sitting room (where our sofas are) either.
I am dead envious of the fab Everhot! We had to turn the Aga off last weekend, but I sorely miss cooking on it and keep forgetting that I need to wait for the conventional oven on before I actually need to cook :-)

The TV situation is a poser, as we don't let TV dominate our lives, and we're amongst the last in the country here to get the analogue signal turned off...2012 or later, not sure???
We don't have Sky or anything, as I said before, so it's procrastination central round here!

See BBC have a news programme on, replacing (probably) Eastenders - all about the killings today in Cumbria.

It's been an incredibly shocking day.

Yep - I heard it on the 1.30pm news but then it was only 2 people. I jst arrived home when OH phoned from Stockholm and was telling me it was 12 people killed and 25 injured - so unbelievably sad :-)

Have Springwatch on, and it's glorious - their Blue tits fledged today and I missed it (am well peed off)

Our blue tit fledglings have been out and about for a bit - they love the bird box and come very early to make sure they stake their claim!

It was quite cool on Monday evening - I was completely alone (OH had to go to Finland at 4am for the week and the dogs had to go to kennels cos I as going to Suffolk on Tuesday morning) - the baby fox came into the front garden and "pootled" around for a bit - awesome , but I didn;t get the camera quick enough :-(

I just saw the Springwatch blue tits leave the box, but yes, missed ours - at least this year I wasn't on dawn patrol fending off the woodpeckers!

I haven't seen any fox cubs yet this year, it's strange, although we're down south, we seem to be lagging behind.

It's weird - it seems we're well ahead here! The cubs have been out for a while and the one in the garden was big. The blue tits have been fledged for a little bit too although the parents have been fighting with the blackbirds which is unusual I think ??

We don't have woodpeckers in the garden, only at the Golf Club. How pretty they are though!
