Eek - well either way is ok I guess. At least it will all be over for the lovely summer months and she can enjoy the baby in the sunshine :-)

OK, so I have a load of multiple items that I need to get rid of.
They're all in my first secret room - check it out.

Send me a note or let me know some other way if you want anything.

I also have some Old TWS multiples let me know if there is something you want and I'll see if I have it

BG - you get to pick first I guess :-) Let me know if your mum wants something too

hehehe, it's about optic fibers and whatnot - for me it's very complicated : D

He made like a book format, has an image on the front cover, some kind of globe with numbers and symbols in it and a child staring into the world

I went along with him one day when he had to work on the fibres... they're really thin (hard to see sometimes) and he taught me how to strip a piece off (got one home with me hehe). It's all very interesting, but don't want to know every detail about it ;-)

Stopping by real quick before I hit the books again, just got a text from best friend: she gave birth to a baby boy yesterday - the delivery was induced and it was very heavy/hard on her (still not going to visit her today, want to give her her rest). Also gives me time to maybe go out during one of my breaks and buy her something (I already had pressies LOL, but I want to spoil this one).

And now, *poof* if I want to go buy something, I need to hit the books and work hard!

Good Morning,

Brr it's cold and wet here - what a complete change from last week, you can hardly believe it.

Lovely news BG, a little boy - hope all's well. You're very wise to step back a little, it can be overwhelming for a new mother to be inundated with excited visitors.

I'm struggling to get any time on line, OMG our house is in total chaos - you'd think that in the third week things would be tidier, but no.
I had to move all of our stuff out of our bedroom yesterday, including the contents of 4 fitted wardrobes! I'm absolutely done in - what a load of tat we've been keeping!!!

Slept in our guest room last night, well, I say slept - on and off. I feel like a bit of limp rag today, lol.

IMOM has a one to one with his new boss, as he's done his six month probationary period. Hopefully everything will be ok, he doesn't see why not, but fingers crossed.

ED and her partner are off to Paris until Sunday evening - hopefully it might be a bit warmer than here.
We also had a mad panic yesterday as she'd left her phone at home and desperately needed it - mine was the only number she knew by heart and it took me for ever trying to get hold of her B/F to get him to take it in to work with him so she could collect it.

Hope everyone else is ok and we all catch up soon.

Cold Bee!

I just lost my connection as well, bleurgh.

Am working my way up to shifting great big piles of books around. I ought to be really slim and fit doing all this furniture removal - dream on

How are you doing?

Hello Zoonie - yes move some books but only enough to create space so you can sit down and put your feet up with a cuppa (of a coffee).

I'm doing OK - managed to (finally) meet up with Tiph yesterday but due to mad traffic in London (well she did come here in rush hour) she was late and we only had 5 minutes before she was having a dinner with some friends so we just managed to have a picture taken by her hubby (I posted it in Wish's thread).

Apart from that nothing new or exciting in my life. It looks like I'll be in house on my own this bank holiday weekend as my housemate is going to some book festival (freebie from someone she knows) outside of London.

Any progress with your house?

Oooh I'll look at the pic then.

Well, the dining room and drawing room are completed and look very good, so too the new bathroom (still one piece missing from the radiator though!) and the downstairs cloakroom, which is where the books are going (on some shelves in an alcove)
The hall and landing should be finished later today, but the landing is full of junk from all sorts of rooms, so although it's decorated, it looks like a tip again now.

They're starting our bedroom, but, because of the bank holiday, they seem to think it might be next Wednesday/Thursday before it's done - find that quite hard to believe...we shall see.

The new cooker arrives tomorrow - which reminds me, must check up on that.

Sorry the men needed a pot of tea and some feedback.

Yes, I guess we'll be out of our room all that time, never mind, it's nice enough where we are, even if the bed is 18" narrower lol.

We'll just be tackling lots of piles of paperwork and other assorted stuff that's accumulated over the past 9 years, and getting rid - before the carpet fitters come, which is something I'm absolutely dreading!!!

Are you all nice and spick and span now Bee?

oh no!
I still have not re-organized my wardrobe since the plumber's been and my landlord had to take all my stuff out so they can run a water pipe at the back on the wardrobe.

I will have to do it this weekend as I'm tired of not being able to find anyting.
I'm almost caught up on laundry and ironing so I need to put that away in proper place.

Due to nice weather last weekend and few days earlier this week I opened box with my summer clothes and found out that I have lots of stuff that no-longer fits so I'm planning to have a big sort out and give it to local charity shop.

Yes long weekend, last one for months and I will be clearing my room - I really need to get a life Sad

But those kind of chores are a part of life Bee, and it's good to have the time to do it - you'll feel better and more settled then ...
and then life can start properly again? yes?

I fully intend not to put stuff back in our wardrobe if I don't absolutely want it - I found 9 pairs of shoes I'd been hanging on to without any particular reason - shocking isn't it.

The trouble with having lots of cupboards, is that you shove stuff in there and ignore it, just because you can
I really must turn over a new leaf!

I know how that feel - the amount of stuff I've given to charity when I was moving - bags and bags!
You really don't realise how much stuff you have until you have to move it (out) and I was moving from 2 bed flat to a bedroom.

I have promised to myself that once the "work" is done and I'm happy with it I will slowly start to replace some of my clothes (as I'm very very slowly getting slimmer) but I will do it in a way of "1 in 1out" that way I won't end up with overflowing wardrobes full of stuff I don't wear.

Luckily I'm not sales impulse buyer. I don't actually like clothes shopping right now as I get very easily frustrated - I'm between sizes so it's really difficult to find something that fits well Sad

eh..... so so.
Been having a sick week I guess.
beginning of the week my RA was terrible, then I was without a car for most of the week, just got it back again (still not fixed) and today I am Sick Sick, still fighting with a week long migraine.

But.... all that stuff is kind of normal by now for me, huh???
so other than that stuff, can't really complain.

Has anyone heard of our updated plans for visiting in July??

this is something I didn't know:

...Research scientists are unclear about the precise cause of migraine headaches. There seems to be general agreement, however, that a key element is blood flow changes in the brain. People who get migraine headaches appear to have blood vessels that overreact to various triggers.
Scientists have devised one theory of migraine which explains these blood flow changes and also certain biochemical changes that may be involved in the headache process. According to this theory, the nervous system responds to a trigger such as stress by causing a spasm of the nerve-rich arteries at the base of the brain. The spasm closes down or constricts several arteries supplying blood to the brain, including the scalp artery and the carotid or neck arteries.

As these arteries constrict, the flow of blood to the brain is reduced. At the same time, blood-clotting particles called platelets clump together-a process which is believed to release a chemical called serotonin. Serotonin acts as a powerful constrictor of arteries, further reducing the blood supply to the brain.

Reduced blood flow decreases the brain's supply of oxygen. Symptoms signaling a headache, such as distorted vision or speech, may then result, similar to symptoms of stroke.

Reacting to the reduced oxygen supply, certain arteries within the brain open wider to meet the brain's energy needs. This widening or dilation spreads, finally affecting the neck and scalp arteries. The dilation of these arteries triggers the release of pain-producing substances called prostaglandins from various tissues and blood cells. Chemicals which cause inflammation and swelling, and substances which increase sensitivity to pain, are also released. The circulation of these chemicals and the dilation of the scalp arteries stimulate the pain-sensitive nociceptors. The result, according to this theory: a throbbing pain in the head.

Migraine is so horribly complex, and, it annoys me when people call a very bad headache a migraine, it's much more complicated than that.

The latest I read is that black coffee helps - not tried it.

Sorry you feel so rough Kijo, especially when you have no choice but go in to work.

Haven't heard about your plans?

Wow you will be busy!

I would love to go to America too one day.

I must say that I'm lucky that I only had a migrane twice in my life but the pain was so excrutiating that I just couldn't do anything.
It was horrible and I really really feel sorry for you that you have it for a week now - I can't imagine how can you go on about your life!

Bye Kijo, get some rest, being over-tired can bring on migraines! (something else you probably know)

I'm going to go and do some ironing, on the basis that a) it needs doing, and b) it might warm me up some!

See you Bee xxx

been sleeping later and all I get for it is missing everyone. Oh well... that's the way life goes, I suppose. Housecleaning on my agenda today. Have the girls coming over tomorrow for sewing and movies. this has worked out so well. I get to view the films that mark would never go to with me. AND I am getting work done on the Christmas quilt I am making. Best part, besides the company, is that it forces me to pass the dust rag and Hoover at least once a week

Hi Frannie, if you're sleeping in later, you need it (that's how it works in my book anyway)

The plan sounds absolutely ideal, would love to be a part of it.

Well, I'm not around much still, as you can gather. I said earlier, am living in absolute chaos at the moment...and I've moved that much stuff around today I'm sure my arms will soon be rivalling Madonna's muscles

I'm trying to do about 20 PS visits a day, but not necessarily managing it

It sounds awful. It's not like you can pack up and go somewhere else while it all gets done either is it?!

Can't wait to hear about the new cooker ! Must have photos please :-)

We may be able to get our kitchen done later in the year (if we can stand all the hassle) - the new business looks set to contine for another month at least so it will pay for most of the kitchen. Although actually I can't bear the thought of living in such a state LOL

Frankly I'm so tired I can't even think about it. It's all caught up with me this week. I fell asleep at 4pm yesterday afternoon (working at the dining room table) Laughing and only woke up because my neighbour called with some THANK YOU strawberries (we had cooked for them on Sunday evening cos they've been having a bit of a time of it lately)
