Me and my friends @ school strongly believe that something is going to change. We don't know what, but something is.

yes i know what you mean Lazar... things are really changing but thats is just the way it should be, you can expect the world to behave one way only. think of it as a human, we grow an change. besides to all the things that the human has done to it, its bond to change
but i feel really confident that we will make it through 2012.... i simply dont buy those theories anymore... i can almost asure you that in 2013, they will tell us that the end will be in 2015 and so on

congratulations

Laz....if you read back through history, you will notice a string of prophecies (including the end of the world) that have not come true.

I honestly would not worry about it.

Yes I believe we all need to think about what we are doing to our world and do all we can to look after it. However, human activities can not be blamed for the ice age....and this proves that the world can and will change even without human in it.

Do your bit to keep the earth green...but dont worry about things you cannot change xxx

I agree with Lisa. I am not a believer in the apocolypse. I had enough fear based stuff when I was a kid, and today I know that the more I worry about things the more physically sicker I become. I'd rather do my part to conserve and take care of this earth.

I always loved the saying:

We have not inherited the planet from our parents, we have borrowed it from our children.

Falcor, Lisa and Yvette, thank you for your messages.
I've heard from my friends that Nostradamus predicted that on every 100.000 years or something, a big change is going to happen. 2012 is the next 100.000 year. Sad It's like, 98.000 years ago, ancient people Maja dissapeared from earth, then 198.000 years ago, Ice age etc. I do not believe in that, but nothing is sure Sad

I used to have a book with all of Notradamus' prophesies in it...I ended up throwing it away as it was such a load of rubbish Laughing

But Lisa, how could he predict that Hitler would be in the WW2? (he called him Hizzler then, I dunno why)... He also predicted both WW's... I am still amazed by how could he do it! Is there any explanation?

We read things how we want to read them...and we look for truths in things that are not always there.

Notradamus prophesies can be taken many, many ways, but a lot of the time we twist them into something that makes sense to us and twist his words to fit certain situations

This conspiracy goes as so: Nostradamus predicts that the third Antichrist ( after Napoleon and Hitler ) will rise with name “Mabus.” That being said, if you take the last two letters from "Obama" and the first three of "Bush" and you get "Mabus.”

been having a surf around and this is exactly what I am on about....they are twisting things to try and make them fit Sad

There is so much scare mongering around hun, you have to take it all with a pinch of salt..

You are too young to remember, but the 2000 was supposed to of been a huge disaster for everything electrical...people were prediciting that everything electrical would fail, and people waited anxioulsy for midnight new years eve...and nothing happened lol Laughing

To some extent I do believe in psychics, but not about all this 'end of the world stuff'. I think we all have this thing called 'psychic energy' in us, but to me, it boils down to things like one's conscience or inner voice talking to them. I have read stuff like Edgar Cayce and Shirley MacLaine as well as various theories and ideals about spirituality and spiritual concepts, but I don't base my existence on their words.

At the same instance, I won't put too terribly much emphasis on things like Nostradamus and the like, simply because I think that a lot of the stuff going on involves natural laws of science and that involves theories of physics and other natural sciences.

Oh yeah, Y2K. I remember that all too well. People really were panicking about it and I found it to be laughable. Of course, back then I was collecting the beanie babies and ended up getting a TY2K and he was cute.

We were at my friend's place, and all I remember from that night was standing out on the street, singing Cliff Richard's Millennium Prayer at the top of our lungs, getting weird looks from my husband, and setting off fireworks. congratulations

People were also contemplating things like VCRs and other electronics going bonkers. It was a crazy time, but when the new year started, then nothing out of this world occured. My husband worked in the computer branch, and he said that every day there were different rumors going around.
