always1more 0 Posted April 30, 2011 Hiya Rob,Pain in theee asss ain't I lol. These valve seals are a reet tw@t m8 but getting there. Trouble is I need it sorting for Tuesaday morning as the Daughter wants her car for work. I'm doing ok on the seals, but because I've taken the Camshaft carrier off I need new gasket sealant. Now I asked the muppets on the Rover MG ZR forum and a member stated I need some special shit which is this http://www.onlinebearings.co.uk/loctite-574-flange-sealant-fast-cure-pr-16417.htmlWell when I took the carrier off yesterday when she had her headgasket renewed last year they must have used some black gasket sealant as that's all I see on the mating surfaces. When I was at the motorfactors this morning they wanted £13.50 for some locktight sealant which looks like what was used last year. So when I asked if that's ok to seal the two surfaces the fella on the Rover forum said big NO NO it needs to be . NoYou must use an anaerobic sealant such as the one specified by Rover. What's you're thought Rob on this because no motor factors open now till Tuesday and I need this sorted for Tuesday so Halfrauds are open if I get desperate and was looking at this, same as the motor factors this morning http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_165466_langId_-1_categoryId_165691Thanks in advance
