Ashleypayne 0 Posted December 23, 2011 Cant complain, its done about 40,000miles and never been changed, so when I get a chance gonna get the engine apart an then order a new cam chain just to replace it, trouble is, taking the engine apart, you start to find things that need changing and it becomes expensive lol, gonna check valve clearance aswell

steph42 0 Posted December 26, 2011 Before you strip the engine take the cam chain tensioner off place it in a bowl ov engine oil and pump the tensioner piston a few times thy get dry on loose slight pressure this should reprime it if this doesn't work fit a new cam chain tensioner (the manual adjustment type if you can they're way better )1st and try it, they get noisy when they're worn. also the chain guide maybe worn but i believe it can be replaced without a complete strip down.
