Old Country Family Tradition

Billy Bob had long heard the stories of an amazing old family tradition.

His father, Grandfather and great Grandfather it seems had been able to walk on water for one day only on their 18th birthday.

On that special day each had been able to walk across the lake to the pub on the far side and had been able to get their first legal drink.

So when Billy Bobs 18th birthday came round he and his pal Bobby Joe took a rowboat out to the middle of the lake.
Billy Bob stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned.
Bobby Joe was only just able to pull him to safety.

Furious and confused Billy Bob went to see his Grandma.

Grandma I'm confused It's my 18th Birthday so why can't I walk across the lake to the pub like my Father his Father and his Father before him ?

Grandma looked into his troubled brown eyes and said,
Because your Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather were all born in January,
when the Lake was frozen you were born in August you great IDIOT....
