Oldfart 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Two people , rider and pillion, were hurt yesterday at Matlock Bath. A woman pulled out and tried to do a 'U' turn in the main road without looking. Dont think they were seriously hurt thank goodness. Bike was a mess. Hope they throw the book at her!!!I also joined the bikers 'Crash' green dot safety scheme yesterdayhttp://www.helibikes.co.uk/Resources/SCAS%20Heli%20Bikes%20Article.pdf
Kenb 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Needs a 5 year ban and re-test. Careful if you travel to Matlock A6 from Derby. Road surface looks good but some of the bends very slippy where diesel has been dropped over many months and is back to the surface after the rain. Got a slide between Milford and Belper 40mph and again Belper to Ambergate 50mph, both right handers and not breaking any speed limit. Tyre pressures checked prior to ride and tread excellent. Oldfart 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Heard they werent too badly hurt Stue. Just shaken up. That Green Dot scheme is good. Was dreamed up by an ambulance biker and now part of their training to look for it at an incident. For individuals the cards are free but £4.50 for bulk buys.
