carb/jet question

Recommended Posts

Hi all as you know Im jetting the bike

And have some questions that some of you with a bit more carb/jet exsperiance may beable to clarify

1,when I stripp the carbs is it worth replacing any orings seals ect ect

also the jets in the dynokit seem smaller than the standard jets that are already in the carbs

is this normal as I beleive they may look smaller but the flow of the jet is what will count and the difference in the needles

also I came across this on the net this is what I mean by jet size

mine are 100 main jets mikuni

http://www.jetsrus.com/FAQs/FAQ_mikuni_vs_dynojet_vs_keihin_sizes.htm

as you will see there is a difference between mikuni and dynojets

the dynojets I have are dj094,098,100

any help would be great thumbsthumbs

i would only replace any seals if you were doing a full carb strip /dismantle especially on an older bike as yours isnt that old you might get away it but if you want peace of mind you could do them, afraid i know nowt about jets.

hi Lee
depending on what stage you are useing the stage1 will be roughly the same as standard but the stage 2 and 3 will be considerably bigger to allow more fuel flow.
i rooted my jets out and here is a pic of the stage 1 2 3 together with the standard jet.

your sizes seem small but you have the later Bandit so they might be right but on a mrk 1 they go from 100 to 155

hers the pic

unless you got a prob seals and o rings can be reused. thumbs

wont be much difference then Lee, they will be matched to the dyno jet needles too to get optimum flow. thumbs
