Och so long as I feel ok tomorrow, I don't mind too much, it's not like I have lots of obligations now the troops are gone congratulations

We're going up to London to 'Bibendum' for a meal with a couple of friends, for NYE - what are you doing Frannie, anything special?

we don't really celebrate New Years Eve. Through the seventies and early eighties I was supervisor of Commercial loans for a large Bank. Books had to close NYE so we rarely got out of there until two am or so. Then, after having Robin and staying home. Mark played in a band as a second income. NYE was shot all through that time.. Soooooooo.. we try to stay awake until midnight. wait for the idiots here who shoot off guns and foreworks to settle down and then we sleep. Exciting, eh?

We wanted to have a quiet NYE, so we probably will watch movies on TV or play some DVDs and wait until it's midnight, open up some bubblies, watch the fireworks and head to bed. On Jan 1st we do family visits and that's about it.

WB to you BG Smile

Army, I seem to have been on the go all the time, but going one step forward and two back somehow...let's not worry.

Did you read the NYE menu? we've chosen already
LaughingLaughingLaughing

It's where we went for our wedding anniversary, and where we took YD for a lunch to celebrate her 21st. The food's excellent and the building and service you get there are both amazing.

I don't think we've had a big NYE for years, like Mark, we used to work when we had the wine bar; didn't really do anything when the girls were small, and since we lived here, just socialised with our neighbours (who're not really party people)

Ceps are a kind of mushroom Frannie.

Mr Z is having that, and then either the steak or the veal chop.

I'm having the fish soup and then slow roast belly of pork Smile

He's having cheese (to share, hee hee) and I think I might have the cherry pie thing with creme fraiche icecream, not quite sure yet, but will share it too.

sounds wonderful. It's a tradition here to have pork roast on New Year Day. I fix it with a boatload of sauerkraut and then side veggies. One of my favorite meals, mostly because of all the caraway seed I use. Love caraway seed

We're having gourmet, don't know if that sounds familiar? :blush3:
And I think Mom & I are going to make another cake tomorrow, the last one had a huge success. Not making any other desserts, because I made too much with Christmas!

not quite sure what you mean by gourmet? Here in the States that's a term as to a 'type' of food. Sure that you mean something different

no worries hun , there isn't much to tell . she sleeps a lot and talks a bit cries a lot but she will get better they are arranging a 5 member support for her when she gets out of the hospital , and if she misses any appointments they go and get her so this is a good thing

We have so many different things here, I can't even begin to tell you!
But chocolate or cheese fondue looks like the same pot I sent for meat fondue (not the gourmet)

See you Frannie, I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
