Alpha- Omega or Aleph-Tav

Recommended Posts

I try to keep things short a simple, I hope I put all the info in here to get my point across.
When studying a subject God often takes me on short but relevant detours.
As I was studying the Hebrew Aleph_Bet (Alphabet), I heard in my spirit (Alpha Omega).
So I followed God’s lead.
I have not heard this anywhere, that is why I am sharing this with you.
I’m going to insert some web pages for you to read, I feel it will be of more value to you then the copy/past thing. I ask that you read the pages to get the full impact of what I’ve learned.
Revelation 1:11
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last
This is the scripture I will be dealing with.
We have been taught, and assume that, The alpha and omega are the same as the first and the last. Alpha and omega representing the first and last letters of the alphabet.
I started my search by going to the meaning of the letter alpha in Greek.
Alpha (uppercase Α, lowercase α; Greek: άλφα) is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 1. It was derived from the Phoenician letter Aleph
Basically the alpha is a copy of the aleph. You will see this if you do a search on the alpha.
This got my attention, because the alpha is not the original but a copy. The alpha has no meaning behind it. Greek letters have no symbolic meaning. Now if you would divert to this page and review what is said about the Hebrew aleph. http://hebrew4christians.com/Grammar/Unit_One/Aleph-Bet/Aleph/aleph.html
So then I went to look at the omega. The omega is the last letter in the Greek alphabet, but it is equal to the 16th letter (Ayin) of the Hebrew Aleph-bet. Look at what the Hebrew letter Ayin represents. http://hebrew4christians.com/Grammar/Unit_One/Aleph-Bet/Ayin/ayin.html I find paragraph 2 very revealing.
The Tav is the last letter of the Aleph-bet. http://hebrew4christians.com/Grammar/Unit_One/Aleph-Bet/Tav/tav.html
At first I was concerned that I couldn’t find a meaning for this letter, but then I realized that Christ hasn’t returned yet.
I said all this to say that God is the First and the Last, he is The Aleph and the Tav.
Considering Jesus would of spoke Jewish Aramaic, I did check the Aramaic letters and it is the same as the Hebrew but over time the letters have changed so they no longer look like the same letters, they are all so pronounced a bit differently.
I believe when God Said the Aleph and the Tav, he was referring to the whole Aleph-Bet. I would encourage you to read threw all the letters. http://hebrew4christians.com/Grammar/Unit_One/Aleph-Bet/aleph-bet.html
Does this study determine the status of your salvation? No But it gives an insight to God that seems to have been lost in western Church's.
