Lucky Strike 0 Posted January 9, 2010 There's a virus being spread on facebook that if you click the links in comments or private messages, usualy titled something like 'OMG look at me/you in this video!!!!!!!' etc, which then take you to a fake site that looks simlar to youtube (which as you know is a safe site). The fake site then tells you that in order to see the video, you need to update your flash player. You then get a popup download box containing an exe file (the virus) the fake page looks a lot like this: http://blogs.paretologic.com/malwarediaries/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/wiz.pngIf you were to download and run (double click) on this file, you would install the virus on your computer.Be very careful when you're asked to update flash, and only ever download it from here:http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/the adobe website, never from ANYWHERE else.If anyone asks you to download flash to play pet society in a comment or PM, do not click the link.I felt the need to post this to help bring this problem to light. If you do come across anyone posting virus links, delete them and report them to facebook straight away.I found this.
