revival idea for 1.4

Honestly, Life on smp is getting dull and such

A suggestion to breath life into it again.

2 maps.

1 for pve which uses towny and gamerules

1 for pvp which uses factions and gamerules

1 hub map which is the spawn + mall + other stuff with NO pvp.

Sounds...okay, I guess. I just think you should be able start a life in the Factions map, and possibly have a nerf to the items you can bring in. If you can easily find diamonds/cash/resources on the PvE map and not the PvP map, PvE'ers are at an advantage. Maybe have a (possibly large) cost on the ammount of items you can bring across maps, i.e., pay for inventory space to cross. Not sure how you'd do that, but it seems like a good idea.

I like this idea. People can safely build and get resources in towny map, and go highstakes action in the factions map ;3 Might get me playing Minecraft again.

Sounds like a great idea! It would attract new people for the factions, while spicing up the gameplay for old and current players. The factions would add a whole different way to prove dominance. The regular world would be a great place for casual players looking for a calm server, while the factions would be for people looking for constant action and having to be as sneaky and strong as possible.
