messenger bags can be purses too!! i dont think its about being girly though i love funky purses that are different - i dont want the same bag that everyone else carries. though i do know of a good place to get the kind of bags you are describing - goodwill often has bags like that - and on half price saturday - they ROCK!!

my mom said she just got invited to a clothing swap - but many of my friends range in size from a 2 to a 28 so i dont want to try that just yet
