bedfordbiker 0 Posted April 20, 2011 Try looking in shops like Singer or the sewing section in John Lewis
smilinjack 0 Posted April 21, 2011 Try the market Dave. A decent haberdasher should sort you out BTW a shoe repair place might be worth asking about fitting it as sewing leather is a bit of a specialist job.

dick65 0 Posted April 21, 2011 there should be a standard zip size as all bike gear is different, the suggestions off lizzy and jack should be worth a try,is the missus any good at sewing?
bedfordbiker 0 Posted April 21, 2011 Oh and when you sew in the zip avoid using a 100% cotton thread 'cause it usually frays and breaks quite easily. I'd recommend a duel duty thread around 37% cotton, 63% polyester.

smilinjack 0 Posted April 21, 2011 @suzukijax wrote: It's just us sewing thread cognoscenti being daft Jax. A cotton thread is spun around a polyester core to give a strong thread with a good "feel". Ergo, corespun
