smilinjack 0 Posted April 21, 2011 If possible leave the replacement plates in an oil bath overnight to impregnate the linings. If it's been used before not quite so important mind.

lee1 1 Posted April 26, 2011 its started slipping again right been out this morning, let the bike warm up,set off starts slippingwhen the bike gets nice and hot,it doesnt do itcould be what bezzer was thinking of,maybe the oil, putoline 10w40 semi synthetic in itThe only thing thats not convinceing me,it maybe this,is that ive always used semi synthetic oilall adjustments are fine, cable ect ect pushrod inspected all okshould I try another oil
Bezzer 0 Posted April 26, 2011 Should be fine with a bike semi oil as you say but it's strange it's happened with both sets of plates. Only things you've got the same is the oil and the diaphragm spring then ??. Wouldn't have thought the spring is the problem if it goes away when warmed up, it really does point to the oil which is the only thing really changing as it warms up but seems very strange. The only problem with changing it is you'd have to decontaminate the plates as well to make sure they were rid of it as well before you used new, also make sure they get a good soaking in the new stuff before you fit, overnight is best.
