If possible leave the replacement plates in an oil bath overnight to impregnate the linings. If it's been used before not quite so important mind. Smile

The old bits don't look too bad,bit of blueing will soon come off as long as theyy're still flat. You changed the covers recently did you change the oil then as well?? what did you use if you did?

head banghead bang

its started slipping again head banghead bang

right been out this morning, let the bike warm up,set off starts slipping

when the bike gets nice and hot,it doesnt do it

could be what bezzer was thinking of,maybe the oil, putoline 10w40 semi synthetic in it

The only thing thats not convinceing me,it maybe this,is that ive always used semi synthetic oil

all adjustments are fine, cable ect ect pushrod inspected all ok

should I try another oil

Should be fine with a bike semi oil as you say but it's strange it's happened with both sets of plates. confused
Only things you've got the same is the oil and the diaphragm spring then ??. Wouldn't have thought the spring is the problem if it goes away when warmed up, it really does point to the oil which is the only thing really changing as it warms up but seems very strange. The only problem with changing it is you'd have to decontaminate the plates as well to make sure they were rid of it as well before you used new, also make sure they get a good soaking in the new stuff before you fit, overnight is best.

stripped it all down again today Sad

measured the springs and 2 were a couple of mm shorter than the others

so ive replaced the 2 springs with heavy duty springs, took it for a blast no slip

so hopefully this has sorted it

if not theres going to be a burnt out bandit on ebay Laughing
