bandit gearbox snatch

Recommended Posts

noticed in last 500 miles in the last few weeks that my gearbox is snatchy. clutch cable was a shite one so put a genuine suzuki one on now and is alot better, also clutch is adjusted perfect, and have tried different ways. yet when i click into gear, or go from first to second. and sometimes down changing is cruntches abit. is this natural for a 600 bandit? im abit worried sweet as nut in other gears. its just hit the 10k mark so not high mileage. could it be the oil thinning.

I would try changing the oil for a better quality and also it may be to thick as the weather starts to cool down.

if you can lift the chain of the back sprockets , then that wear in the sprockets , time for a new chain set ,

Chad mate do you mean a feeling of 'notchyness' when you're shifting through the lever? Because yes that can be poor engine oil, incorrect chain tension, or shit/not enough chain lube.

You'll be able to pull any chain away from the sprocket a small amount, 2 or more sprocket teeth exposed hough and yeah time for a new chain... thumbs

Slack/knackered chain and it will not be smooth.
