ive never had to use a charger on a 12volt battery but got a small trickle charger for 6 volt battery no probs yet

no probs Dave i did see one in the sale at HG might be worth getting one,its the first time ive layed a bike up over winter

with a optimate you can leave it switched on and connected to the bike for as long as you like with out doing any harm , all year if you wanted
