DIY rad cover

Recommended Posts

I have said in the pass that iv made my own , with the rf 900 it will just slot in the rad on other bike's you may need to put a edging stip on or a cable tie , small braket but that's all part of the fun i went with gold this time 500mm x 500mm cost £20 tools carboard and a angle grinder , thumbs

step one make a template as if you cut it wrong your in the shit

step 2 get a marker lay the template on the cover and make it out
now cut out with the grinder do this on a bit of wood as the steel is thin

now put it on the rad

now have a coffee and look at you work took me 10 mins max

just found my next project, Just refitted the rad as well Doh! as I have just fitted a set of sandy bike spare SS down pipes to the CBR. Did you lacquer the gold or just leave without.

Only body know the dimensions of a CBR radiator for a 600 FX 99 Model?

Cheers

Mark

Halfords selling mesh at £10 at the mo for anyone wanting to do this! Picking some up in the morning lol

A few cable ties will hold that, its all they use on a lot of bought ones.

Wasnt keen on anything cable tied on,
and didnt want slim and flimsy. I wanted
a chunky solid look.

Went with the "Radguard" brand on both my Busa and B-King.

I have been told they wont flow enough air
and will cook the motor.

Wrong.

20+ run's at the drags in an Australian heatwave,
8 years use on 2 Busa's and a B-King,
Stuck in city traffic jams in Summer,
Temp is no different to a standard bike.

Well done Mr Madsod.

Whatever you taste or choice,
its a good topic and folk should
seriously think about one.

Trust me !!!
