All remakes override the original in every way (meaning they can be created at the lab from fossils, guests will have them as favorites, donate to them, buy gifts, etc.) All feature juvenile stages and at least 3 "regular" variant skins, plus a rare skin (albino/leucistic), all feature slow growth (meaning they will get slowly bigger with time instead of turning 3 times bigger in 5 seconds), and have "baby variants" which are consistent as they grow up. Rare variants are also linked to genetics (recessive/dominant). This means you will have a hard time breeding an albino variant from regular animals, but breeding albino animals has a high chance of albino babies. Make sure you have the required downloads, otherwise variants won't work! These remakes might conflict with other remakes, hacks, filters, etc. affecting these animals. If they are not working properly for you, try renaming the file and adding more zzzz to the name, until they are last in alphabetical order, and remove files that might be conflicting. Some names, biomes and behaviors have been edited for the sake of realism. This download is Public Domain, but please credit the original creators for their skins and models we used as a base (listed in the spoiler above). Yes Update: 12/4/2025: The separate files has been combined into one. In short: -Visual updates for the quagga, short-faced bear, woolly rhino, Doedicurus, saber-toothed cat, giant ground sloth. -All animals now blink, and close their eyes to sleep. -Adjusted lifespans for all animals so they match the RR patch. -Changed some biomes around for accuracy and game balance. -Added model variants for Doedicurus, Stegosaurus, juvenile aurochs. -A couple other tweaks. All model updates by Ulquiorra of course, and thanks Jake for the accuracy checks. From the Creator: This update has a bunch of things I wanted to do for a while but decided to postpone in favor of getting the final animals finished. Regarding: Quagga: I reskinned it from scratch since the old skin was done quickly using other people's textures and didn't match the rest of the pack. Based on descriptions and illustrations, the quagga's head was likely black rather than brown. There's 4 different stripe patterns + the leucistic skin, it's in Mediterranean scrub to make it more distinct from the zebra, but they can still interbreed (and the leucistic gene can be passed down while interbreeding). Short-Faced Bear: Learned we actually have black fur samples of this animal, so black it is. You can download a patch with the old skin if you prefer the brown version. Also moved to grassland which is more accurate to the wide range of habitats it lived in. Woolly Rhino: I decided to give it the black band shown in cave paintings, I ommitted it on purpose originally based on the advice I got but figured more people prefer it with the band. Also added rings to the horn, shamelessly based on PP. Doedicurus: We redid the feet, face, and tail. I was never too happy with this animal, so I hope it looks better now. Saber-toothed Cat: Reworked the model proportions and face. Now juveniles have double fangs, also shamelessly based on PP. Giant Ground Sloth: We redid the snout to be more accurate to the skeletal. Doedicurus and sloth were also moved to cold desert. This is what I considered the best pick for a temperate to cold, semiarid, open habitat. And it helps give more content to the RR biomes. Carnotaurus and Styracosaurus: I moved both to wetlands, to balance things so 1. we don't have five dinos in temperate rainforest, including both ceratopsians and both larger theropods, and 2. the DDP dinos are again 2 in one biome and 2 in another (but now rex and trike match). Giant Camel: Moved back to grassland for accuracy and to make it more distinct from modern camels. Diprotodon: Moved it to semidesert for balance. I always struggled with its biome but I think this works well enough, considering it was pretty generalist. Aurochs: I thought the juvenile's horns were too short, so now they are longer and work as a preview of the adult horns, growing up to the corresponding adult version. Stegosaurus: Added 4 model variants (plates and tail spikes). Tyrannosaurus rex: Based on Nanosaurus becoming valid, we adjusted the juvenile rex model to make it less Nanosaurus-ish. Dino Dummy Reskin: Now has matching icon. Dino Poop: We have dino poop now! Comes in large and small size. Blinking: Made 3 blink textures (based on the RR one) and added it manually to hundreds of models trying to get the best look possible. Feel free to use the blinking textures if you find them useful. Thanks to Horse14t and Okeanos for their tutorials on adding blinking to nifs and bfbs, respectively. Lifespans: As you can imagine, extinct animal lifespans can get pretty speculative. For Cenozoic animals, I used their closest living relatives (adjusting for body size when it was too different), and for dinos you can expect smaller ones to live to 10, medium-sized ones to 20, and the larger ones to 30, with some variation. Now about why I decided to turn this into a single file. I know this can be inconvent for those who liked the separate downloads for mix and matching, but it was getting impractical for many reasons. It meant downloading and having 40+ files in your ZT2 folder, and many of these animals share a lot of files (animations, blink textures, egg and poop files, location maps, variants) so it meant having a lot of duplicates which bloated folder size. With such a large file, I tried my best to optimize things and make the size as small as possible (while considering there's a ton of skins with several variants, sexual dimorphism, and life stages, some of them for very large animals). But if there's something you want to delete from the file, you can check my guide for doing so. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz EA Remakes Full.z2f
