Morning Partner...

It was so great thanks. We were very very cold but it was so much fun!! We all went along with his gf and her friend... a short running comentary follows...

The went 1-0 down the 1-1 then the other team scored again and by half time (45 mins in) they were 2-1 down ... came out for the second half and one of his team was sent off for a foul (the referee was blind and penalised his team for small fouls but not the other team....that's what Bob said anyway LOL) they fought back and came level again so it went to extra time (another 30 minutes on top of 90 already played)

THEN their team had a player sent off for a horrid foul which could have broken bones!!!! I was so worried, I'd forgotten how pationate these British men are about the game!

So it went to penalties (5 players from each side are only a few yards away from the goalie and they shoot a goal) well the tension was high, my son is the goal keeper for his team ANYWAY

The other team went first....they missed!!

WE scored! (1-0 to his team)

My son SAVED the next

We scored! (2-0)

My son SAVED the next

We scored! (3-0)

WE WON

These are the Campbelll Kids... a VERY recognizable advertising slogan for Campbell's soup.. I was going to ask for a siggie of Zubok and misha, dressed as Campbell kids.. but if the UK doesn't know them.. kind of pointless

I wrapped up with loads of layers last night and was sooooo cold, the wind seemed to whip through the stadium!

It was worth it thought o see the look of delight on my sons face.

They're too cute!

Who cares if the UK don't know, I think you should have them if you want them....Zubok and Misha would look fine as those two!

some more info on them:

Campbell Kids

Campbell Kids were first used as part of an advertisement for the Campbell Soup Company in 1906. The kids were created by Grace Drayton, a popular illustrator of the day. The kids were used in magazine and newspaper ads until about 1951. They were presented again in 1966; and in 1983, they were redesigned with a slimmer, more contemporary appearance.

I'm so glad you got to see him goal tend, Dawn..

Thank you Frannie, it's the first time I've been to watch him since he was a little lad (he's 23 now!!)

It's so cold standing on the side lines on a Sunday morning in the middle of winter AND I don't enjoy football that much so yes, it was a treat to watch him. Also I get so upset when they're horrid to each other...and they are, quite viscious at times, he woudl die of embarrasment at his mum shouting at anyone giving him grief! LOL
