  1. I usually get Chicken thighs. Love dark meat. I'm not the biggest fan of cooking with sauces to be honest. I usally season everything up and cook them how I want to. Sometimes take the drippings and make milk gravy, and serve those on mash potatoes..... that kind of thing. Never had spaghetti bolognese, unless thats just usually sgetti here..... : / dont like meatballs in red sauce too much.... usually do swedish meatballs. cause those are yummmmmy!!! Like to make stuffed garlic burgers a lot here..... they are very tasty!
  2. I thought paula dean would be a name you might know...... when you come and visit Tan Tan and I will give you some southern comfort food. Just be careful, cause it really sticks to your bones!!! Not sure what kind of cornbread recipe she gave you, cause there are like a billion different kinds.... some are sweet..... yuck!! down here we cook it in a cast iron skillet.... you start it on the top of the stove, then cook it in the oven til its nice and crispy on the outside and sooooo good!!! you can eat it as a side item (like a dinner roll) crumble it up, and serve beans on top of it, ect. I really love to when its straight out the oven fresh, crumble it up and pour a bit of milk on top of it and eat it..... sounds weird, but its sooooo good!!!
  3. everything that is really bad for you!!! : D " soul food" is a term to describe southern home cookin' Like.... you momma's deep fried chicken. anything with gravy, cornbread, greens (collard, turnip, ect), fried okra, potato salad, ect. A lot of people turn it towards the black community as well, so you could add chitlins (which is deep fried pig intestines) and other stuff. But.... I guess, just think Paula Dean, and you are pretty close. Yes, Ibuy lots of chicken and ground beef, but after qhile it get tiring, and much easier to buy frozen food, that while is not good for you, is quick and easy to make. Can't imagine eating liver..... bleacck!!!
  4. yeah me too..... I cook a lot of southern "soul food" I guess, stuff I was raised to cook (the same for you I am sure) But havent really explored new things, and as many cooking shows as i watch... think it would be neat to cook new things. the only thing that really deters me, is that is it nightly costly to eat decently.
  5. gravy and biscuits..... not really all that good to be honest. or i least I dont really care for it too much but you must try some grits. yum!! : D
  6. I've never had lamb either. yeah its pricey here too. So not sure its even worth it, tbh...... rice sounds cool. I am not a huge fan of cooked tomatoes. I also found a cool thing for salmon burgers..... i wonder if i ask someone at the store if they would be able to ground the salmon for me..... : / been a while since I cooked real food, and its so much fun!!!!
  7. just was googling... guess i made a cottage pie. : D
  8. I read about your rice.... with tomatoes, and spicy?? (if I remember....) never heard of cottage pie. I make mine with ground beef because of the price fo veal, have you ever had veal?? would it be worth the price?? there is a really yummy looking Normandy stew that I want to try, but its made with veal. was wondering if I should splurge for the veal, or just use regular beef.....
  9. I made a banging shepard's pie yesterday.... and It has me on a cooking frenzy now..... was looking at some reallllly cool things that I want to try thinking about making one new recipe every week. Tomorrow for dinner is gonna be garlic stuffed chicken. (not a new recipe, just what I am having.

  16. Siamese.... they are in a class of thier own. i made him wear a harness the whole weekend, he did not care fo rthat much, and sis not stop him from getting stuck somewhere I couldnt get him out of still!!! but he had a great time, and did not talk to me for 2 days once getting home Well, I say there i nothing to see..... but really I guess there is.. alot of history and pirates and ghosts and whatnot. goole it and see if it seems interesting enough for you. wouldnt mind taking you about if it is something that you would like to do. Dunno if you are into art, but there is a pretty decent art museum here too..... not that it compares to anything you are used to, so might not be worth your time......
  17. I didnt have an appointment, per say, just somewhere to be. she was NOT on time, and I left the hotel at 7:00. I texted her letting her know, its not my fault she can't be on time. the management here is AWFUL about these sort of things. Kind of need to leave on time today as well, but dont wanna push it, will stay til 7:05 at the latest. The only thing with me, (as of right now...) I can't meet you up like... on a wednesday or something. Friday morning at 7AM would be my vacation starting point (again, this is if everything is still the smae in a year) so you would only have to be cautious about that sort of thing. If oyu do end up staying in Savannah, I could show you around, its a very beautiful city, and one of the most haunted in the US, if you are into that. Tanya might meet us up in SAV for a day or something and we could take pics of the city, then take a midnight haunted walking tour, only if oyu are into that sort of thing. I have a king sized bed that you could sleep on, and I could take the spare, and if TT comes, I think she has a blow up mattress we could set up somewhere as well. tight and cozy. So its very doable. all up to you and what you would like to do. : D thanks. My cat is such a brat though, but I love him dearly!!!!
  18. as in oyu have a layover in Savannah?? you could always look at landing in savannah makes a price difference. you could always ride with with me down to FL, worse case scenario, oyu would have to spend a ngiht in my tiny apartment.
  19. Was jsut looking around thought Amtraks were decent priced, but seems the trains have increased. Same dates and locations was like 167 for a train, and 32 hours on the train. However..... American Airlines, same date and location, $135 dollars, 3 hours. Might be worth to think about taking that option since the price isnt THAT different.... once you think aobut the food and time you will be wasting in the almost 24 hour difference. : D How are you today??
  20. i wasnt saying that it was. : D Just nice! No, I have somewhere I need to be... actually need to be there AT 7:00.... but a few minutes late will ahve to do. and I am tired of always having to wait on her..... she is LATE everyday!!!!! Gonna go ahead and log off now so i can run out the door at 7:00 catch ya tomorrow AM! XOXOXOXOX
  21. yes, it always helps to have housing taken care of as wlel, and a local to show you the area. just sent a text to my relief requesting that she be on time because i will be walking out the door at 7:00 AM whether she be here or not.
  22. 23 hours?? well thats with Time changing adding onto that as well so hopefully wont be THAT long. imagine being on a plane for 24 hours straight. kind fo scary come to think of it. everyone is traveling and its making me get cabin fever!!! A trip to the US would do you good, and you deserve it!!!
  23. Yes I saw in the PMs you have been sending, been reading everything, but no comments as Its sort of moot for me..... I am with Tan Tan Maybe you will be around close to my b-day! : D really hope that it works out for you! would be Fab!!! TT was talking to me earlier about going to Europe next year as well! So I am hoping she is able to have a blast there. Doesnt seem like you will need it, but in case it comes up you might need a hotel somewhere during your stay, please PM me.

  25. whoot for peace and quiet!! new photos popped up yesterday, have you gotten a chance to see them? oh funny story was on my way to Fl and it seemed like everything was going right and perfectly, so stopped and filled up gas in my car before hitting the freeway, had $1 left in my wallet, so I was like... well give me a lotto ticket, since today is such a great day Looked at it the day we were all packing up to leave, even had my favourite number on there, so I was like, yeah, this is gonna be really lucky!!! didnt even get 1 number right. lolz
