I believe that if a person is a born again child of God through the blood of Christ, curses on that person have been reversed. However I do believe that generational bondage or oppression can still occur. The sins of the father do certainly visit the following generation and those things have an effect on your life. It is a process for the Lord to show a person and for him to walk the person through the healing of those effects and restore to him/her what the enemy has used to try to destroy lives.
