Likewise, it is disgusting to look at the BIG HW racing tampo (the flame on top of every card) in numerous castings every year. Sometimes, I didn't buy bec. of the tampo. -
A simple and original tampo sometmes can be just desired and impressive.

Remember the first casting wearing the K&N logo? What is K&N? I can't remember the castings with this tampo and how many of them. How many of you just buy for the logo? Is K&N a great attraction to you? Is the attraction getting less and less? I can't deny it looks nice but too much of if can be boring.

The 2013 version has simple tampo with just two lines by the sides, Mattel could have painted the lights and grill as a bonus to us. -
Thanks to mortfish and Stulio for your responses and now we know. By the way, there is also a dark blue version. This car looks quite similar to the Datsun 510. A nice Continental classic sports car and my favourite.

This BMW 2002 doesn't look like one from 2002. Could it be a mistake? It is more like one from the '70s.

This AA from 2009 is very nice too but I don't have. There's also a green version. I can recall seeing them in that year and did consider to grab one but no. Thought it's nice but fictitious and so the result. -
The AA above from the 2005 5-pack is the coolest and nicest. I like the pink and black combination.

The tampo of this 2010 AA above is very similar to the 2012 version.

It is hard to find an AA on the pegs, so I think this casting must be very popular.

In fact, there's enough space for the missing two letters. So I think "Whee" instead of "Wheels" could be the intended word. In addition, the meaning of the word "whee" is also very relevant here. WHEE is used to express extreme pleasure or enthusiasm. whee [wiː]. interj. an exclamation of joy, thrill, etc. Wave surfing, for example, could be a sport that brings extreme pleasure or enthusiasm to the surfers or just anybody who likes it. Why not? Well thought! Genius! -
The tampo on this 2013 '69 Mercury Cougar Eliminator looks decent and nice. Needless to say, with the familiar "GOODYEAR" logo on it, it makes the casting even more collectable. Nice classic car too! -
"Hot Whee" not "Hot Wheels" on the surf board?

Thanks to Atomkinder for showing his new McDonald AA with original side graphics I supposed. It seems that the casting here is not as sharp, most probably due to the thick paint. The grill is of the same colour as the bumper and I guess it is not a separate piece, different from the 'usual' casting. Such a difference could be related to the absent of an engine bec. the 'usual' grill is part of the engine. Here the grill has to be sealed, again necessary, I supposed. Well, interesting! Atomkinder and LSL138 are welcomed to comment or correct me.

Thanks to LSK138 for posted pic. of the McDonald AA. You played with it? It looks worn out. Wonder any engine there but it looks like having one. The black bonnet looks sporty. Likewise for the back spoiler and matching. Red screens match with the same colour rims. The red colour gives a hot impression. It looks nice but better if the car had McDonald graphics on it.

AA is a fictitious car but t looks like a real car. I always like to look at the beautiful engine below the cut bonnet. I regretted for I had ignored them totally over the years. However, this year I started to pick up the first two and most likely that I'll continue to do so in years to come provided Mattel corrected the defect I mentioned earlier.

Very recently I got this Deora II First Edition and much impressed by the colourful surf boards it carries. I found that on one of the surf boards, it was printed "Hot Whee", I wonder it is a spelling error. If you have this car, please check to find out whether yours also the same.
