The Drop In and Say Hi Thread

Recommended Posts

Crikey I totally forgot it's Monday and a new PS week.

Mind you I couldn't get on yesterday, just kept seeing waves and feeling sea sick.

Finally got on in the end, but didn't have time to do much.

A gift from Novia, and for Zoonie, it couldn't be a better destination!

Just had our breakfast too, if I could go on a real life Safari again with IMOM, it'd be a dream!

I've dressed Zoonie in the clothes, and used the wallpaper, floor, tree and animals in his room, but then I had to go and cook and then ED called - she's been to Paris for a few days with her B/F - it's his birthday today. She rang, but is still in bed!

Aaaw.

OK I guess thanks, am fairly worn out, having people around constantly, living in chaos, and humping stuff from room to room to room, that's been pretty tiring. Am looking forward to getting back in to our own bed tonight - need to sort out the room first mind you.

ED has been telling me where they stayed in Paris
http://www.mamashelter.com/sleep

- needless to say they're both now absolutely stoney broke ... which isn't sounding good for the money they owe us Sad

wow..... looks incredibly nice there.

trying to put aside some money to have for a deposit to hopefully rent a small house soon.
the place I am staying at is becoming.... problematic.

Aaah, oh dear. Somewhere nice to stay would be a big plus.

The hotel was nice, perhaps not so nice as the site looks, and it's about 20 mins outside of Paris, but at least they had a break (am trying not to be jealous) They found food incredibly expensive, but then our exchange rate is so bad. I think they managed lots of gallery visits, including going twice to The Louvre.

We haven't been to Paris since the girls were very small.

You know, I can't remember all that much about it, except, the entrance, which is through that giant glass pyramid, and seeing both the Mona Lisa, which is tiny, and Leonardo's Cartoon, which is also very small and is kept inside a small circular curtained section, a bit like a round booth, under special dim lighting (well, it was when we went) IMOM isn't much of an art or culture lover, so he kept wanting to whizz round, whereas I wanted to take my time.
Oh and we saw the Venus de Milo as well

*am thinking back hard now lol

yes the Mona Lisa is much smaller than people realize.
the replica posters are larger than the actual painting.
(studies Da Vinci stuff in detail for like a year)

I love art stuff, so I bet its amazing! would spend days there.

time for me to go
have a nice day.

We used to have a bit of a meet up around this time of day - it's my morning, as you can see (9.30) and I'm at home taking phone calls and answering emails etc.

Sometimes I'd catch Frannie and Armell at this time of day as they'd either be up very very late or up really early, depending on what their sleep patterns are, and Kijo, who works a night shift at a hotel audit.

Just lately though we all seem to have gone through a bit of a change of routine, so we keep missing each other.

What are you up to?

Had surgery a couple of hours ago (part two)...
Am in much more pain then last time and not expected actually, was hoping it was as good as the previous time... Already took a painkiller, so waiting for it to kick in...

So, that's it for now

I'm lurking, part of morning crew present
just finished watching Alice, won't be able to do much today

@ Gill, I'll rest, be sure of that, from the moment I knew when my exams were, I made a schedule and left this day completely open, knowing I won't be able to study

Sure is!!! I enjoyed it, had high expectations, but had to ignore them, didn't want to get disappointed!

I think it's one of the first avvies/siggies, I had to dig deep to find this one again ;-) I looove this one (it's all purple-ish)

Well, he wondered to give me antibiotics. Then asked me if I got some last time, but didn't. So he didn't give me a thing now, only some good advice (like I knew from previous time). Just me and the pink pills today (painkillers)

Aaah I see.

Yesterday my internet was really patchy and I'm still struggling with all this work at home (I know it sounds ridiculous, you'd think I lived in a castle!)

I've had a mug of coffee, I think i just feel really bone weary and daunted by how much there is to do this week.

Yesterday I had a friend on the phone for HOURS (luckily I have a headset so I could carry on doing other tasks while I was listening) - she was feeling very sorry for herself indeed, and I think all that wore me out as well lol.

How are you Bee?

Hello Frannie

@Zoonie - I really feel for you! You must be so sick of living in "building site" and I bet you can't wait for it to finish.
As for you friends - I think you have wrong job - you should be a councellor (that way you get paid for listerning to people for hours)
