Since, we're at photography topic, I think we should even chat about cameras too.
It's not what is the best but what are the choices.
To me, the current market of Camera technology are very close.
The options of choices is wider than before.

I love simple cameras and I'm in love with this camera...

LUMIX DMC-GF2
Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera

Other than ever famous Canon or Nikon, alot of people don't realised how good Lumix camera is,
with the technology of Leica.
The future of cameras are small cameras with interchangeable lens . Because, good photographs are because of the lenses.
You can always invest on the buying good lenses and adapters.
We're not professional camera users, when we do traveling, a lighter camera always helped.

^Hmm good posts. Personally, since i'm used to huge *** DSLRs, i don't find small interchangeable lens cameras appealing to me. However, i've used a G12 before and boy was I SHOCKED! The functionality is pretty good, quality of the image is awesome. Macro mode is pretty jizz too. But like someone previously mentioned in another thread(photography), "you dont need an expensive camera to take good pictures.. but you NEED an expensive camera to take VERY GOOD pics).

I agree with your part about the lenses.. it IS very important as different lenses serve different purposes.. But for these 1:64 diecast, i used the Nikon D60's kit lens (18-55mm). 50mm probably for bigger diecasts Very Happy

However, i personally don't find any camera as the "BEST" camera.. as long as the picture is nice, it doesn't really matter what camera you're using..

"To me, the current market of Camera technology are very close.

wow g12!! i sometimes used g6 for macro shoot, eventho using nikon d3,d70s and sony alpha 200 with 70-300 macro but for cropping factor to support my close up shoot i prefer using d3 with 24-120.and i still learning how to shoot small diecast to make it more real.nah!! u guys using point n shoot camera are more better than me..me such a noob.

Lol vader, a 18-55mm would be very good! Cause it covers semi wide angle and also semi macro too! A very good kit lens i must say. To make it real? You mean this effect?

i think this is 40%about camera and 60% about practice with camera
i used nikon d40x kit ... body + standart lens but thats not all
all depends on using manual mode and well-selected diaphragm and exposure time and lights

^hmm i don't know, but it's just a very general opinion..lol. Hmm of course practice also plays a part ?
