just been watching the news/weather Shocked a bit of snow and the country goes mad

whats up wiv people,when I was a lad,not to long ago lol,when we had proper snow 2ft deep use to walk to pit,to do a 12 hour shift in bare feet wiv me jam butties for dinner

didnt complain then,no central heating ice on inside of the house windows Shocked

snow my arse,its never been snow Laughing

Aye we had to dig a tunnel to outside Bog and break the Ice before you could have a shit.
and we used the Tin Bath as a sledge.

our house only had two coal fires,one in the living room,and the one in the kitchen had an oven and it was used

My bedroom window was always covered in ice on the inside years back and the schools closed down because the boilers packed in and we had to suffer the black outs too

I remember when they couldn't get the horses out of the stable to pull the cart that we had to use to get to the pit to do a 25 hour shift 8 days a week Laughing

Seriously though, I remember tucking the curtains on to the window sill to keep the heat in and they'd be frozen to the windows some times and you used to get wicked jack frost patterns on the glass.

Our school was 400 yards from our house, so we didn't have the luxury of not getting to school on snow days, unless the teachers couldn't. Ere, remember the big snow in 1982 - made a monster sized snowman that year Laughing
