not promicing but i reckon you could,

i had a smashed sump was like a 4 intch hole in bottom of a motocross bike, they weleded it, put a new sump plug, and welded the cracks up.

do you want me to take a picture to my uncle a welder by trade see what he says?

£1500 stue but I think I can get it a little cheaper as he wants another R1 he uses it when it's dry, and always keeps the oil topped up, and serviced he is one of the technicians at work thumbs

It's possible but you may struggle to find someone to attempt it. When I needed a tiny weld doing on an engine the only form I found willing to give it a go wanted the entire engine stripped in order to heat up the component before welding.

To be honest micky if I had £1500 for a bike I would look for something else

if that fix was just a simple weld job then the guy would have it done, the problem with alloy is it breaks up very easy

and the damage can not always be seen from the out side of the block hope this helps thumbs

Yes, it's do-able but will need stripping for a proper job. For that kind of money walk away mate, lots easier and cheaper to buy a straight one - 51 plates can be had for around 2 grand often enough and if you're going to fighter it you get to recoup some dollar on the plastics - will probably end up cheaper than buying the one you have been offered, with lots less hassle.
