Oldfart 0 Posted June 20, 2012 From Bikesport News MagazineParalysed rider Talan Skeels-Piggins will race in this weekend's Thundersport meeting at Snetterton, taking on the best of the club's Supertwin racers on his own Minitwin machine.Talan has been wheelchair-bound since 2003 but has not let that stop him. He is a regular fast group trackday man, has a level four CSS qualification and is a founder of The Bike Experience charity. "Talan is paralysed from the chest down and has spent many years not only facing up to this challenge, but doing everything possible to overcome it and carry on doing the things he wants to do in life," said Thundersport boss Dave Stewart."He has competed successfully at downhill skiing and motorcycle racing in hillclimbs and twisty sprints. He has spent two years of undertaking various trials and completed all of the tasks set for him by the ACU Road Race Committee to allow him to go road racing on a solo motorcycle. "We at Thundersport GB have been fully supportive of him in that process and he now has a permit to compete with us on his Minitwin machine within our Supertwins grid."
