Suzuki in a featherbed tasty

Recommended Posts

Interesting.

Funny mix of styles.

GS550 engine ? Wouldnt be my choice of motor.
There are a couple of featherbed Suzuki's that use
the later oil cooled Bandit/GSXR engine.
Alrthough you have an oilcooler its still has fin's on the motor
and doesnt look all bad (and go's hell of a lot better)

Underseat exhaust doesnt really suit that look,
but it thats the way your going to go, why wouldnt
you use an arm from a bike WITH an underseat exhaust
so you didnt have to run it around the outside.
Put it up through the arm like most do.

Out here they'd just chop 2 pots of the end of a Roll Royce Merlin
(4500-5000cc should be enough?)
Then build a frame around it later.

..then decide maybe its not mad enough,
and put a supercharger on it....

its not as slow as you might think, revs easy to 11000, i managed a 62 second lap at brands hatch , now has a 672 top end and slabie 29mm flatslides though, so little extra go for now

Is there a reason for such long header pipes
before the 4 into 1 collecter?

Does if move the power up or down the rev range
compared to the traditional position ?

Was there a reason for it ?

i just had a lot of tube!! Laughing i made it up as i went along, it dosent seem to affect anything really , however it did fail the noise test , first of it was 130 db, had to choke it up a bit and it knocked the revs down to 10000.

its not really a featherbed i copied one but stretched it at the swingarm and shortened the length a little
