I use this site " go star racing suspension set up guide"
I am trying to fine tune my suspension at the minute but its a black art in itself, will mess about a bit more but I intend to visit a specialist this year.

Not a bad guide but I'd really disagree with the "adjusting the preload equally" bit - as this doesn't account for differing spring rates.

Setting the sag *will* make a difference to your bike from stock settings, and if you are tinkering please please please go for a fifteen minute ride on your bike first to warm up the forks and shock - it makes a big difference to judging the settings - and if you set the rebound cold, your bike will be like a pogo stick when on a ride!

your ok m8, I usually take some tools and spend a day out on different roads trying slight adjustments as I go, problem with front forks is they are off a zx12r and the springs are to hard as I have the preload backed right off and still don't have the required amount of sag so going to see a pro and get it sorted proper.

You could always eat more pies  Laughing  But you're right, you need the springs sorting first.
