newleaf 0 Posted June 25, 2010 I signed up to help at a church function.I did not like the leader -she seemed controlling. She handed out boring assignments-while she did the fun stuff. I Was put in charge of something which I wanted to do something well and glorify God and feel good about myself. But I wanted to do something managing something -so I could put it on a resume Got an email saying: Mrs Jones has been in charge for many years thinks its great that you will be working together.?I think this lady approached Mrs Jones and said Can you help?I had signed up for this team because I received a word that I should serve in this -from my prophetic ministry leader and someone else. Mrs Jones is a nice woman -nothing against her at all but now I just feel weird about this. I am not sure I even want to do it. Not sure God wants me to either. Does anyone have any wisdom on this? lola21st 2 Posted June 25, 2010 Hi Justblueskies - I think you should move forward with this commitment. Despite the way in which the assignment occurred, if you think you could work with Mrs. Jones then there may be a great opportunity to learn from her since you're seeking management experience and she appears to have it. Don't let the enemy working through the controlling lady to distract you from what you want to get out of it. My ....
SCGirlyGrl 0 Posted June 25, 2010 I agree with Lola...sometimes God puts us in positions that our flesh doesn't like so we can grow and learn.
Cholette 0 Posted June 25, 2010 Amen to both comments here. It's time to take your eyes off of man and put it on God and the assignment he has given you. When we pray fo things or when God says to us what He has in store, we don't choose how they come or the circumstances that surround us. Like it was said earlier, sometimes God allows things like this to happen so that he can work something out in you for the next place you are going. Not just that, but why not be an example to Mrs. Jones? It's an opportunity to let you light shine...even among those who know Christ.
