justblueskies,

When you start thinking negative....Just start singing a praise song start worshiping. The enemy can't stand up against Praise and Worship. When I think a negative thought I just confess it to God and replace it with his truth.

Good answer. Let me highlight the word PRAISE.

Satan shut up!
Father thank you for your love
Thank you for your joy
Thank you for loving me
Thank you for defeating my enimies
Thank you for my car
Thank you for taking care of me
You are great Lord
You are greater then my sercumstances
You are great in my life
You are great in my house
You are great in my life
You are great in my job
You are great in my want
You are great in my excess

I just kinda ramble on like this, pretty much say what the Spirit brings to my heart

Also would like to say that it's a choice not to think negative. All those negative thoughts are gonna come all the time BUT you can CHOOSE to think ON PURPOSE the opposite that is:

Philippians 4:8 (Amplified Bible)

8For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Those negative thoughts are toxic and they poison us our minds, bodies. I remember there were times that I used to dwell too much on negative thoughts and I developed ulcer and my face used to break out. I took all possible medications and went to all possible doctors. BUT until I realized and started cooperating with the Lord, replacing one at a time those negative thoughts with positive ones the ulcer didn't go away. I started controlling my thoughts, yes, it is difficult, it takes time and energy but it's worth it!
No whenever I break out this is an indicative to me that I am dwelling on the wrong things and worrying to much!

Hope this helps

This is the scripture that dropped in my spirit too. I have to think on "those" things ON PURPOSE as well!

Just to piggyback on the saints who have answered you.

You can't stop them from coming but you dont have to give them life.

2Corinthinans 10:3-5

3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ

We dont have to give those thoughts life though. Put those thoughts to death by praise, through the word (as Christ did when Satan tried tempting him), asking God to sanctify your thoughts when in prayer....
